Anybody else have this issue??

Under one year, my plastic key is starting to tear, spoke to my service adviser and they said this is not a warranty issue - not to pleased with that.

Also - how many of the Plastic ECU keys did you get with your car?? One or two?? (along with the Crystal ECU)

By the way, the pen mark you see on the key was there when I got the car back from service . . . confused

2 plastics, as well as the glass one. Both plastics in good condition but not really bothered as they will outlast my ownership of the car smile

Sorry for a slight thread highjack Babyvantage, but has anyone seen the thread in the Pistonheads Lounge entitled 'How to troll a dating website' with a last posting yesterday of 16.56 ????

I'm still crying with laughter now biggrin

You have 2 plastic ones? Was that an optional extra or something? I only have one plastic, one glass and one little metal manual key.

George, it was a bit of confusion at the dealership upon purchase. I noted that I only had one Tracker Fob instead of 2 so they said they would sort it out. Next thing I know another plastic key came through the post instead of a second Tracker Fob (not bothered any more as I have an iphone 4 as well), so I kept the extra plastic key smile

Not a warranty issue! Nonsense. If it was a remote for a TV it would be, call AM direct and complain about it and your dealer.

I got my car with:

1x Crystal ECU
2x Plastic Keys
1x Metal Key
3x Tracker Cards

Did I just get lucky? (Not that it's much use because I only use the ECU out of all of that...)

ETA: Actually that's a lie, the valet guys in Europe get to use a plastic key and a tracker card thing

Just the 3 majors - I'd go out and buy a new ECU if I thought this was due to my negligence, but parts of the Aston ownership just rub me the wrong way!!! smile

Dealer supplied me with new plastic key on collection for the reason that the 2 previous
Ones were showing exactly the same damage as yours. Then subsequently the prior owner returned another, so now I have 4 with three showing the damage. When he told me how much the proper glass one costs I now only use the plastic (and that is also not cheap) unless I am in a very good mood!

at least your ECU hasn't got the word "Volvo" appearing as if by magic on the back.

That's awful after a year! But how much do you use it? Looks like all the graphics have worn off as well. Do you have a dog?!
Mine's a year old and looks pretty much as new after 20K miles (not that wear will be mileage related!).

As above, I'd definitely push back to try to get that replaced FOC.

These keys have no graphics even when new, so there's nothing to wear off.

I use mine every day. Two years, two worn-out keys.

These keys are lousy without the complete lack of durability. With that, they are just plain sad.

Don't they all have embossed graphics? Mine does! IN the OP's photos it looks like the graphics have, at least in part, worn smooth.
