Off to the preview day tomorrow, so I'll be trying not to dribble too much on the DB9s.

I don't suppose there's any chance the v8 Vantage concept will be there, is there?

BTW, Autocar have the first drive of the revised Vanquish in this weeks edition. They report the power increase will come later, for now it's just chassis mods. Some excellent photography in the article though.

A little late to tell you this, but no, it won't be.

I was dissapointed with the Aston stand! Was the first place I headed for and its tooked away in the corner and very small.

Wanted to see the V8 vantage but it wasnt there and you couldnt look around the cars without getting in the queue because the stand was against the wall

Aston never have a very big stand and you can always rely on the crowds flocking to it, making viewing difficult. Still it was WELL worth queuing as I've now sat in my very first Aston The DB9 coupe on show was a gorgeous colour combination (dark met green over a wine red interior). Think that'd be the colour I'd choose over titanium, if I had to.

At least getting up close and personal proved one thing, photographs do this beauty no favours. They hide many of gorgeous curves and I just stood there, like a schoolboy, taking it all in.

It was a pity that the v8 Vantage concept wasn't there, but I suppose it may have taken the focus away from the DB9, and let's face it, the 9 deserves all the attention at the moment. It'll get it's moment of glory next year.

For me the DB9 was easily the star of the show. The Porsche GT and MacMerc run it close, but they just seem to try too hard, something Astons have never done (IMHO).

Oh, and just to start the day off well, a DB7 Zagato pulled into the parking bay behind us. WOW! Another design that looks sooooooo much better in the metal. That baby has presence

All in all, a superb Aston day.
