Hi guys,

After my previous post I have finally bought a V8V! Meteorite silver, 12k miles and all the usual goodies. It is being serviced on Wednesday (at the same time it is having the clear tail lights fitted), then I am down to pick it up just south of Manchester and drive it home to Edinburgh on Friday - at which time i'll pop some pictures up.

It's been a long time coming..... I've had a few cars since I passed my test; JCW Cooper S, E46 3 Series then onto a run of four Lotus', most recently my Exige which I sold to a Belgian trader (http://auto.vlan.be/en/second-hand-car/Lotus/Exige/PREMIUM_RACEACIMPRESSIONNANTE-5603072-for-sale?id=5603072&zid=329412517&cc=7) a couple of weeks back. I was always going to hold onto it until I hit 25 then try to move onto something more prestige however after visiting the local AM dealer during my Lotus service (Murray Motor Company) I couldn't hold out any longer and decided to take the plunge!

So here I am! I have a HUGE passion for cars and have worked my socks off to own and enjoy them. I feel privileged to be picking up the V8V and can't wait to get behind the wheel!

To any other Edinburgers on here; expect a wave wink

Cheers!
Lewis

AH!!!!! Well done, I only bought mine a couple of weeks ago, same colour as yours....

Best feeling in the world, amazing car... I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine..... I smile at just the thought that I have one of these parked on my driveway.......

Please provide some feedback in a few weeks time on how you still like driving the car after an Exige. I'm thinking of making the same move but not sure if I will miss the driver's car appeal of the Lotus. Both bring about equally silly grins and looking back as you walk away i'm sure.

Thanks guys.

I will keep you posted however I have a feeling I won't even think twice about the Exige. The first couple of years were pure love however the last year it just turned into one of those cars you love driving 10% of the time - good, quiet, smooth country roads - the rest of the time it just frustrates you.
