DB9 or Vanquish?
Discussion
I agree with you – The Vanquish is one of my all time fave cars and I could live with the slightly dated (but beautiful) interior.
In a car park full of DB9s & Vantages last year – the Vanquish S was to my eye the best looking car and seemed to get the most ‘attention’
However, I purchased my DB9 a year ago and overall have enjoyed owning the car.
They generally seem to be a reliable car, but not without issues.
Mine is used on a daily basis, often on short journeys on busy city roads and is a delight.

Gearbox is a huge decision, the unloved robotic manual of the Vanquish or the option of either a much-loved TT auto in the DB9 or the dark horse that is the Graziano 6-spd manual.
DB9 also gives you the option of a Volante if your boat is floated that way?
I think a Vanquish is a rock solid place to put your money, but at a guess... what you save in depreciation on the Vanquish you'll spend on maintenance. Early'ish DB9s aren't losing much money now at £40k for a coupe and £50k for a Volante. Incredible value for an amazing car.
A well looked after Vanquish S would be a car to keep forever I believe, and when the gearbox does inevitably need to be sorted, you can have it coverted to proper stick-shift manual
Budget is the main thing... I'd struggle to choose between a Vanquish S or a DBS if you're at those sorts of levels close to six figures. But at the bottom of the market, the DB9 is going to be more reasonable to run, have 90% of the pace and an interior and exterior that will never date.
In a perfect world I'd have my DB9 Volante and a Vanquish!
