His maths is terrible.

But I am not sure how you managed 24.9mpg out of a V8 Vantage! Especially driven enthusiastically.

Bargain! With petrol at £1:35/litre that's £6.13 a gallon. My V12 has been averaging 12mpg over 1200 miles. So 99,000 miles for me would be more like £50,000 of petrol!

Nothing wrong with his maths, 99k miles at 17.8 mpg and £6.30 per gallon will cost £35k.

OK, his assumptions are terrible.

17.8mpg - even I'm managing 20mpg. I can't imagine anyone clocking that sort of mileage isn't spending a lot of time on motorways. So would expect 20mpg at least.

6.30 a gallon is 1.38 a litre. Prices have only really just got to that level and it's doubtful 99k miles were put on in, say, the last 12mths.

Even not being a pedant though, it's still a lot of money on fuel. But you can't take it with you biggrin

My Amanda tells me that if you can afford an Aston fuel consumption does not come into the equation. I am going to harp on though. We did a tour up to the north west of Scotland, steady blat up as far as the Lake District 26.4mpg! The whole holiday 25.2mpg! I keep checking because I am genuinely surprised. Having said that I don;t care if it does 15mpg. I truly love my Vantage it never ceases to delight me. I consider myself truly fortunate to own such a fantastic car.

That sort of car at that sort of money is begging for a Bamford Rose conversion!

Robgt, no more posting until you have taken that number plate plinth off your car! Have you taken your CTR stickers off yet either? I still have mine on...

No-one? Pretty well documented that Gaydon cars have fairly bulletproof engines, certainly in historical AM terms! Nice to see an example used.

For the record, I LOVE that interior!! Needs a bit of bling, but love that saddle colour. It's what I'd have in mine if I could have chosen smile

25mpg from a V8V! Where'd you get the diesel conversion done? I'm getting 18.4 on 50 mile daily round trip on A,B and M ways with a mile or two of town work. As for the maths stated at the top end for shock value, agree with you though, whether its £28,130.985 ( 99,000/ 20.456 mpg at average of £1.2789/litre (average over last 3 years)* at 4.545 litres/gallon) or £35k it's still a lot of cash, anyway you can't expect an accountant to be that accurate biggrin. But as you say worth every penny.

* PS I made that 'fact' up.

You guys are all driving like girls! I managed only 13mpg out of my 4.7 V8V and get only 11mpg out of my V12V...

I dont even dream of the figures you are all quoting as to do so would be to dream of driving slowly... evil

I went to Le Mans last week in the V12V, and apart from having to obey the speed limit (ish) so lots of cruising at 130 kmph, did over a 1,000 miles and was surprised that I got > 19mpg - even with heavy right foot when ever possible....and not a girl in sight....
