Anyone else rather enjoying the rivalry that seems to be developing between us?

GT Vs Sports

Old Vs Young

Real Aston Vs Baby

V12 Vs V8

Luxury sports tourer Vs Essex trackday car

Et cetera smile

Two great cars with passionate sets of owners. Bring on Hever castle!

But the V8V owners would out number the DB9 owners by 10 to 1!

Ah, but the true way to knowledge is surely thesis, antithesis, synthesis no?

So some of us wanted a V12 in a V8 bodyshell and lo, it was so, and the word was fabulous...

Yup - as a DB9 owner, I aspire to a V12V.

I think the healthy rivalry is with the V8V smile

What about the real drivers ( manual transmission ) vs the lounge lizards ( autos )?
V12Vantage although somewhat 'common looking ' join the DB9 team because of both the engine and the transmission biggrin

Being a mean Scotsman I will be delighted to buy a glass of champagne at le Mans next weekend to the creme de la creme of Aston drivers - anybody with a manual DB9 Volante laugh

What's with all the hatred of the TT2 gearbox?

Maybe we need another thread 'Manual v Auto' but I feel I would be vastly out voted fighting the TT2's corner.

Also Jockman is right again, the rivalry seems to be with the V8V not V12V (they're almost as good as a DB9).

rofl Only on the Aston forums would a discussion be referenced to Ancient Greek tragedy.
The DB9 interior - too much wood, prefer the pared down interior of the vantage - could almost call it Spartan...

Then you sir, shall be buying me that drink! I agree, the best of all worlds. Would I change for a DBS manual Volante... Of course I would, I'm not stupid smile

V12V... needs to be V12VR and I could consider one.

Manual Vs Auto debate. Not sure whether the DB9 was conceptualised as an auto but 99% of them are auto so they must be good! I never even considered one though. DB9 TT and Vantage manual makes sense, though swapping the manual into the DB9 seems to work. Does a manual Vantage make any sense?

Why no manual in the Virage either?
