Early DB7's 1995-1997 help with electrical problem

Has anyone had problems with Fuel Pumps or ECU on their 1995 I6 engine?
The car runs fine on the road but sometimes I have problems on start up only.
I can hear the pump prime, the engine starts but sometimes you notice it running out of fuel because the pump decides to fluctuate between on and off as the engine tries to idle.
I was thinking of bypassing the ECU commands to the pumps by running a separate ignition feed to only one of the pumps. Could this work or cause difficulties elsewhere?
