Think that was me. My OH bought me a break at Whatley Manor as part of my Xmas pressie.We have booked for 4th/5th August. Would love to meet any of you central Astoneers but understand if weektime might be difficult. Lunch on 5th might be good. Intend to be in Spa making myself beautiful (long job) on the 4th on arrival. Eve pre dinner drink 4th a possibility too.
Open to suggestions.

Just a word on Whatley Manor
If you don't like aniseedy flavours (as neither me or the OH do) beware of what the menu says (or more to hte point doesn't).
Lots of things seem to have hidden tarragon and star anise in them.
Shame really and for such a prevalent flavour one that we felt should be mentioned! We did say as much.
Also watch out that quails egg yolk doesn't squirt straight down your best shirt! That could of course be down to cuttlery incompetence. Must learn not to whack em with the handle of a knife.
Otherwise a lovely spot. It'll look even nicer with a plethora of Astons there!

I am in Dublin at present but live in Shipton Moyne, very close to Whatley. Hope the weather gets better as it was awful when I left this morning.
