So they actually sold one !! Actually it cruised by me in the other direction and I barely noticed it until the last minute. Gotta say it looked a bit like a Smartcar, but with a touch of class. How long before they become the car to drive ?

I know some of you here have opinions on it, but can they ever gain acceptance ?

I like them, never used to but after seeing one I think they look alright. paperbag
No nicer supermini to sit in.

I think it would be better to only offer them to existing Aston owners, else I think it will attract the wrong sort of people (imo) to the brand, i.e. the people who think they're rich now they own an 'Aston'.

Would never replace the DB9, but if I lived in the city I would have one to go with it. In matching colours too smile

They seem almost as wide as they're long to me! I was surprised at how big it was width-ways. Very spacious inside, though. Pity they couldn't have "Astoned" the switch gear and instruments like they have the trim mind you.
My wife liked it, and would consider one if we were townies. Although I'd have a hard job justifying the price hike over the iQ!

As far as I know, that wouldve been a demo car. I don't think they start production until next week.

You really are a bit of a snob George........ I didn't realize there was a right sort of owner and a wrong sort of owner
It clearly would though, lots of pretentious tts buying them for a fashion accessory, and thinking they are somehow rich as they now own an Aston.

A bit like the people who buy a base model BMW 1 series, just because it is the only BMW they can afford.

Astons should be exclusive, therefore only available to the people who can buy a proper one, not just to anyone with 30k spare.

I very much doubt that anyone that buys a cygnet would do so, so people would think they are rich. I think most will see it for what it is.

As for buying a 1 series. Spec one up and for the same money, you can have a db7 and for a bit more, you can have a v8!

I mean no offence by this, but do you see yourself better than others because you own a "proper" Aston?

Compared to people who will buy a Cygnet as a fashion accessory, or a cheap way into the brand, yes.

Yep..... I stand by my SNOB commenthehehehe...

I suspect I won't be going to any AM meets..... Just in case I bump into the wrong sort....... You know the type, they often walk around with their head up their own arseroflrofl
So your telling me this isn't going to be bought by people for their children to drive to their private college in. I know of people who get cars bought for them like this, usually Mini's. I also know of a couple of girls who want to get a Cygnet, just because they think it will be the latest thing. These are the sort of people I want to avoid making Aston a common brand (could see the Cygnet being the next Mini quite easily). But if that makes me a snob, then I am quite happy to admit it.

George, how much is a MINI, £12,500? How much is the Cygnet, £30k+ and you can see it being the next MINI?

£12.5k for the base model, spec up a Cooper and you can easy get £25k. Maybe it won't sell on quite the same scale, but I can see it being quite popular.

Hush, child? How about fk off, wker? Please don't try and patronise me.

I really don't care if I appear to be making a fool out of myself, it is my opinion and I will back it all the way. You might not agree, but I'm not too fussed.

I still don't quite see your point. I can say what I like, why does it matter if I appear foolish in the eyes of others?
