Carrying on from my recent poll topic, has anyone had the 2 year service carried out yet?
How does it compare to the first service both in cost and work done?

I was quoted £1130 + vat at Stratstone, or £1000 + vat at Brooklands for 2nd year service on DB9 (lower power V12 than yours, I accept).

Or a further £300 off at DMS.

As Michael has suggested in the past, get a thorough breakdown of the costs if you are determined to use a Dealer, take your own oil, don't use the collect/delivery service etc smile

The work checklist appears in the back of the owners manual for my N400 so maybe the same for your V12V?

I love the item "Inspect service brake pads and warning leads for wear. Replace if 60% worn". Really?! 60%?!!!!

I guess I should be thankful "Renew spark plugs" is every 70,000 miles!

All I can say is dont accept the first price you are offered. Shop around and haggle hard - I found the non-chain main dealers most willing to sharpen their pencils given when pushed for a deal.

No disrepect at all to the small indi's (as they do a sterling job) but I wouldnt be taking a 18mth old £100k car to an indi to save a couple of hundred quid.

Yes - I know JCT are a big car group in yorkshire but in terms of Aston Martin they arnt what I call a chain and the chaps at JCT brooklands certainly act like an independent AM main dealer - such as HWM. Stratstones for instance, seemingly control about 50% of the UK AM dealer network! tongue out

No probs Adam, it was a genuine question.

I thought you had discovered a new strand of dealer that could have been of interest smile

60% worn will put your pads at less than 5mm , the min is 2.5mm , so giving you LESS than 2.5mm of braking matter for your 180mph 1700kg car

If from new a 100% , then first service they are 60% worn , you will not get to your next service before they need changing.

We just advise people and give them a call in say 6 months , to re-check them.

That's so logical it's painful!!

I will be going to WS for my DB9... I just want to, at least once in my lifetime...
