Sadly my OH got rid of them before I could take pictures, but yesterday we found two horrible parallel scratches on the offside front lower wing.

I was mortified but after 10mins graft they were removed and now invisible.

I am one of those who doesn't particularly like the look of the 'film', but have to admit I am so, so glad I have it on this occasion

Yes they may have T-cutted out of the paint finish, but one of those instances I am pleased the protection was in place.

No idea how the scratches got there, but my suspicions are aimed at the Ocado delivery man, who I hope I am not doing an injustice to.

So I guess for those contemplating protection film, take a moment to dwell on what its there for, not just the looks.

See, better to take precautions as my old dad used to say.
Lets put OCADO MAN on the most wanted list and bugger off back to ALDI for the groceries.

Sorry I am not sure, I asked for it when I got the car and the dealer, Wilmslow based, sorted it for me. Very impressive job too. I'm sure if you rang Martin there he would say who did the job.

I'm (easily) confused - how did you get the scratches out in 10 mins?

Don't you have to have the film replaced if it gets scratched?

Thats good to hear Di , The 3m film used on the astons is fairly thick compaired to others around , but is alot harder to fit , but as you have found out that comes in very handy.

Had a fair few customers glad of the stuff on there front spoilers :-)

I leave that sort of thing to the OH. All I can say is he showed me the scratches, and they were scratches not just marks, you could feel the indentation. I think he used something like T-cut very gently.

When finished the surface was smooth once more and bears no trace of the aforementioned abuse.

Maybe not deep enough to go through the film, in honesty I don't know, but what was a trauma for me has gone away so I am happy, and pleased the film was there.

I've felt the same, traumatised by the ever increasing debris on our roads. I suffered it with the V8V and it still niggles me when I see a new one appear. I've not taken any chances with the DBS and I have to say that I enjoy the driving far more without worrying quite so much about those things that inevitably hurtle towards me.

The film is hardly noticeable (I have the entire front end, including carbon splitters and mirrors done) and well worth the trade off imho.

If you're worried about the line of the edge of the film on a part bonnet, which with Aston owners they have the wealth to spend a bit more, have full bonnet and full wings done, then there is no line.

Saying that, we've done full bonnets on Mini's etc too.

Even if you can see the film, which shows most on a dirty car, it's a damn sight better than 100's of stone chips.
