Wonder if anybody can give me some advice on whether to refurbish my alloys or buy some new ones. They are in pretty good condition but are nearly six years old and starting to show their age.
Can they be brought back to life? I have read about re treating alloys. Has anybody had theirs done? Do they look like new? Who did them and how much was it? Final questions how much for a new set?

Cheers.

These people claim to bring them back to new and their website gives details of prices. A long way from Leeds though!
Should be half the cost up there, shouldn't it? smile

I haven't used them though.
With regards to the cost of a new set... Dealers want £1800 - £2000!
Having said that, it's worth speaking to them. Some have new sets sitting around and are happy to do a very good deal.

Lepsons are first rate. They did a CSL alloy for me and it looked like new.

I have just had mine re finished in charcoal by the wheel specialist in birmingham,

really happy with the job they did, and would use them again

I used Metal Magic in Barnsley (0844 474 4358) about a year ago when I grazed a wheel - good service but slightly different colour to original (not a problem if all being done) I think it was £65 a wheel and about 4 day turnaround - they were very busy so I assume they must be doing something right!

Try a search in the Yorkshire section of PH like this one -

You could get some DB9 10-spoke wheels from eBay, they're a staright swap, look better and are really cheap! Sold mine for £200, they were in the way...

Thanks for info.
But how long will a refurbished alloy last. Can I expect if done correctly 5-6 years? I don't want to mess about doing this every two years!!
