Just bought one but not 100% sure of standard spec?
Basically I'd like to know if Powerfold mirrors, bluetooth, rear PDC are standard fit?

My 06 plate did not have powerfold mirrors or bluetooth. Rear PDC was standard.

Do a bit of a search...there are quite a few threads on the difference between model years, which using a process of deduction will pretty much get you what you need smile

I think Bluetooth was only introduced on MY07 cars (so from 56 plates IIRC). Phone prep involved sticking a sim in the dash prior to that. Could be wrong though.

As has been stated before, push your L&R window buttons at the same time - if your windows move in/out then you have powerfold.

Very useful when getting through tight places smile

Do you have close up pictures of your headlamp units?

Intrigued to see what non-HIDs look like.

not that close, but you can see...not much difference

the black plastic pop out washer required by law for HIDs is just a non functionioning cover ...

This may be some use to potential buyers as it shows the value of each optional extra when ordering new. The only thing that I didn't add (which was really to prove that I could resist ticking every box) was the cruise control; something, with hindsight, I do actually wish I'd specced.

It was a good day for the sales team......'would you like GAP & Tyre Insurance sir?'....'absolutely, it'd be silly not to!'....'Diamond Brite?'.....'go on then!'

Prices were as of November 2006

Steve - no wonder you have an expletive asterix in your name !!

Good info and quite a few of the same prices for different items. The Brolley and First Aid Kit are surely an exaggeration.

Did you ever need to claim on the Tyre / Gap Insurances??

Sill Plaque price makes Tony Hall's 2011 price look excellent value.

I think I shall bookmark this thread for posterity smile

Tyre insurance, yes, twice. GAP Insurance, no, I bottled it and refused to let the OH drive it smile

You have powerfold windows? That's way cool, I want some tongue out

Hi Steve,

nice to see a V8V in Vertigo Blue. I'm looking to buy right now, and I'm torn between Vertigo and Titanium. You obviously like the colour, what sort of reactions do you get from other people to it? Any thoughts on how an unusual colour like this might affect value/resale?

I'm not bothered about what other people think btw, more interested to know if it's well received.

Cheers!

I only discovered i had the powerfold mirrors after being advised on here to try pressing the left/right mirror buttons simultaneously.

When my car went for a service at DMS - Rick programmed the mirrors so they now open / close as the car is unlocked / locked smile

One question - I have the slot for the SIM. Did all cars have this ? Will this just work once i put a SIM in ?
How can i tell if i have bluetooth in the car ?

If you have a SIM slot then there is no bluetooth AFAIK. Just put an active SIM in it and it will all work.

GD, colour is very much a personal choice but I haven't had any, openly, negative remarks about it, only positive ones. I was fortunate to be in contact with someone within the factory as it was being put together (he worked on the production line at Gaydon and may still view these boards) and his comment was that it was his favourite colour. From someone who worked with these cars on a daily basis, I took that as a huge compliment to my choice. I never got to meet him but am eternally grateful for some of the photos he provided during that 10 month wait from ordering. Vertigo Blue was first seen on the DB7 but it was seeing a DB9 in that colour that instilled a 'must have'.

As for resale, well it's not pink and I've had no difficulty in ever selling cars that I've owned. If and when the time comes to sell this one, I have little doubt that the colour will be positive factor when it's seen in the flesh. Obviously I'm biased but you really have to buy a car for you and not the next owner. It still gives me the 'wow factor' parked next to a DBS and much of that is down to the colour.

If you go ahead with Vertigo then be sure to post some pics.

Well said! The number of people who buy these expensive cars in the colour of the next owners choice is sad - and some even admit it!!

Thanks for the info Steve, how unique to get photos of the work in progress! It's a gorgeous colour, nice to see a pic of it next to one in titanium(?) too.

Every time I look at what's around, the phrase "Buy it for yourself and not the next owner" rings in my head, it's been drummed into me on these boards smile I was thinking more from a buyer's perspective, as to whether I would expect to pay a premium for a 'non-standard' colour. Like any other option, I'm sure it's reflected in the used price though.

I'll be sure to post pics once I source a good 'un!
