Bluetooth in 06 V8V used to work fine but now is kaput. Pressing the steering-wheel buttons does not elicit any response from the nice lady. The blue and amber status lights no longer illuminate. I have fished around the Bluetooth module for loose wires but all seems to be connected. If it's fused, I don't know where as nothing is mentioned for Bluetooth in the fuse list in the handbook. I can't help but think I'm missing something obvious but can't think what (yes, the ignition is on!). Any ideas please?

Tia.

OK, sorry if it sounds obvious, have you tried re-pairing the phone with the car? Mine stopped this week, but the phone had crashed and reset to default etc. Didn't surprise me when it didn't work when I got in the car.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can't even get that far, there is no response from any of the buttons on the wheel, and the status lights are all out. I guess either the Bluetooth module itself is dead, or it's not getting power for some reason.

Try this:

You can hear a click at each end of the window travel confirming the reset has been successful.

Ha, problem solved! I emailed AM and they told me the fuse for the Bluetooth system is F68 in the cabin. Since my handbook says F68 is “spare” I had taken that fuse out to replace F79 which had blown (reversing lights and rear parking sensors). I put another 5A fuse in F68 and lo and behold, Bluetooth works again. So note ye all, if you have Bluetooth, F68 is the system fuse and is not spare as stated by the handbook. I guess we have to be aware that other fuses stated as spare in the handbook may also not be. [btw - this is for an 06 V8V]
