Aston Martin Unveils V12 Zagato
Discussion
Interesting - would like to see it up close and personal before making a decision on looks.
But very sad to see that it's only got 510bhp. Does this mean that AM cannot afford to redevelop the V12 block?
Aston Martin seems to be the only supercar that has a top of the line regular production car with less power than the last one (V12V and DBS 510bhp vs Vanquish S 520bhp)....
Does anyone know what is going on with AM engine development?

Nissan GTR from the side. Ferrari FF from the rear. Not two shining examples of styling beauty to be copying. Front's just wrong.
On the power front, I'm not fussed that AM aren't getting drawn into the power war. I bet they could get quite a chunk more power out of that engine. Probably 100bhp. But it'd change the character quite a lot. And to be honest, 600+bhp will largely be wasted on public roads.
I'd much sooner they got their lardy weight down. 1600kg for the V8V is too much.

Quote : "However, Aston could feasibly offer the car in two states - a race spec and a plusher version without the rear wing. And it could conceivably charge north of £200,000 for the car. But expect the production numbers to be much closer to the DB4GT Zagato’s (19 units) than those of the last collaboration, the DB7 Zagato and DB AR1 (100 each)"

What happened to understated beauty and elegance. I wont judge until I have seen it with my own eyes in the flesh but first impressions are that this does not reflect the Aston brand to me. If I wanted a car to offer this sort of appearance I would by pass the japanese (some one suggested GTR - I can sort of see why) and head straight to a Lambo and get the striking looks and performance offered there. As it happens I rather like my V12V !

Its ok ...except the wheels ....much prefer some understated 5 spokes myself ..these designs of late look like they should be in Max Flower magazine or Fast n Furios ...is that what kids want? ..are AM aiming at the 20 year old millionaire footballer market?
They look a bit Lamborghini?Hmmm, it looks similar enough to still say Aston but different enough to be something special.
The wheels, however, are just a plain No!
I think they look cheap chavvy and like someone earlier said, hint at the 'too much money, footballer image'.
Shame really as with a bit of tweaking they could have made something very appealing.
Starting to dislike the rear lights now too.
I shall thankfully stick with my Vantage, thank you.
