Does not equal 4 in a DB9, nor anything except a Rapide.

I don't like the look of my back seats and think they are pointless, though I do appreciate the space. I am thinking of having them deleted, belts removed and the area just done as a luggage space in leather and carpet. Going to have a chat with a trimmer next week if I can find pictures of a car without them (can anyone help?)

Would I be murdering the future value of the car? Such a thing would not bother me as a buyer me as I refuse to believe anyone buys a DB9 Volante with the thought of putting a human in the back. One look at it tells you it isn't going to happen! Or is there value in having the emergency seating arrangements for the shortest of drives?

And some of you may have guessed, I never stop changing things...

I'd get a set of luggage made that clips in to the seats rather than getting rid of them.

I agree that they are utterly pointless, but I couldn't justify ripping them out. If Vanquish prices are anything to go by, there is a premium for 2+2's, even if they aren't very practical.

Aston Works will convert it for you. Not sure of how much but at least you will be happy with the result.

There is a quicker way of getting rid of the rear seats Yeti.

And yes, it is as obvious as it seems.

I could live with that... no plans to sell it at the moment hence spending so much money gettng it right for me!

Interesting point with the Vanquish prices though so there is a correlation. Might speak to a trimmer and see what can be done that's reversible.

George, you are so lucky Lady Topaz is tucked up in bed.

The mere mention of a V12VR would make her attack you smile

hehe

I honestly can't see why they aren't making it though, seems like there would be quite a market for it. Especially if they could squeeze in a TT2 gearbox for lazy people like me smile

I want:

Manual
Convertible
V12

So my options are my own DB9 or the DBS Volante manual that doesn't seem to exist second hand - and I ain't buying new...

A V12 Vantage Roadster would be a potent car though, but I'd always have a DBS over it, purely down to aesthetics.

I don't think you will knock much off the value if you do a top conversion cos there will be someone who will like it and possibly pay a premium - however you will certainly limit pottential buyers.

I for one find the back seats a must and could not consider a two seater. I can squeeze a family of four in - a lanky 10 year old behind the wife and on a short journey my 6 year old behind me (I am 6'). More commonly I can comfortably fit both children in (passenger seat and behind,) for any length of journey.

Fair point Andy. Are you in a coupe though?

I would not like to squeeze tiny kids in the back of a Volante! They won't even fit decent bags...

I am in a coupe.

I thought the back was identical???
I havn't been to see any yet, but am considering swapping for a newer model Volante - If there is indeed less room, it will be a non starter.

I believe there is less room in the Volante, they lost part of the boot and part of the cabin to flush fit the roof into the bodywork

Talked to Neal at Nicholas Mee, he says if it's done properly it won't detract from the value. I would limit my market of course, but then I have a modified green manual Volante - no-one else would want it anyway so I'd better just keep it...

Ooooo somehow missed this.

I am stil in a minority of one that says that a V12V R wil become a reality.

If I had a reputation I would stake it on it.

Time will prove me right.

Look at a DBS...just copy that if possible.
