Thinking about adding a DB9, to my little fleet. Thinking about the 2007+ facelift car, what do I need to know ? it would be my everyday car.

Only concern is how low will they go price wise, I.e db7 value ?

Also has anyone owned a bentley gt or a masarati granturismo and how do they compare.

Thanks in advance

Nicely done Tony, nicely done smile

DB9s *should* stay above where DB7s are now as... well, the DB7 is there! At £15k for an i6 and £20k for a Vantage, I can't see decent cars getting any lower. The DB9 has to occupy the space above there. £30k for a coupe and £35k for a Volante is the lowest I can see them going, apart from rough/leggy/rental/track day cars. A 2007 has a long way to go though, £40k for a coupe and £50k for a Volante are what the cheapest 2004/2005 cars are now.

As for ownership, I had a Maserati 4200GT, the GranTursimo's predecessor. The new car is bigger, heavier but has the same mechanicals and is therefore reported to be slightly underpowered, if a 400bhp+ car can be called that. It's more of a cruiser anyway, as is the DB9, but the DB9 just has that incredible V12 which elevates it onto a different plane. It can become sporty when needed.

I swapped my DB7 for a days driving through France last year, for a Bentley GT Continental Diamond Edition, carbon brakes and all the toys. Fast, brutal, boring. I enjoyed the air conditioning and the quaility feel of it, but it was an odd experience. An extremely capable car but you'll struggle for excitement and also not to look like a footballist.

Masarati's make Astons look cheap to Run........for what it's worth I believe you will drop serious money on a late 07 car ,perhaps 15 k over two years....but what the heck, get one bought

Interesting as my granturismo cost me pretty much nothing to run it as newish though when I had it.

Apart from the seats on the 07 models what were the differences ? Happy to have an 06 car probably volante and non sports pack

Thanks

Mine didn't. The modern generation are very good since Ferrari took the reigns. Not sure now under Alfa but the curse is broken, sold mine on 70k miles.

DB7 cost me a lot more money to run than the 4200.

I reckon you're right with the £15k over 2yrs Michael, sounds about right.

Not much is the simple answer.

If you can streatch to MY08, there were several modifications.

Slightly more power, redesigned centre consol, Bilstein suspension, thicker cabin glass for noise protection, modified touchtronic gearbox, clear rear light option, new wheel designs, new mirrors and new front grille amongst others. A lot of the mods were linked to the DBS arrival. Further minor mods are now being undertaken for MY11 models.

MY09 models (mine) are depreciating at approx £1,000 per month at the moment, but the rate will slow in due course in line with Michael's estimate smile
