I popped into my local Aston dealer today and noticed most of the second cars had a piece of Armourfend on the rear arch above the existing bit which runs along the sill and half way up the arch.
I think that is because when you specify the AM stone guards (front wheel arch bits that look like mud flaps)you also get the extra bit of clear film on the front edge of the rear arch. I have them on my 2010MY V8V. I guess they are therefore an OE AM part that you should be able to get from the dealer. However, it may be easier to just by a strip of Ventureshield or Armourfend, use someone else's car as a template and make your own. For example, about £30 from Demon Tweaks for 300micron, 300mm x 1000mm, see hereI hope that helps

So that's what they are?My March 09 DB9 has the Mud Flaps (Ahem, Stone Guards) as well as these pieces of what appear to be badly jointed body parts !!
I will check when I leave work, but I think I have this stuff ALL OVER the car, as in LuckyLuciano's pics, including under the front grill (unless that actually is a jointed piece).
Thought it was an excellent colour match, but now I realise it's CLEAR !!
I assume it is there to protect the bodywork. Any more info on what this is called, is it standard on certain cars etc?
Just checked my Protector on my 09 DB9.
There is a triangular piece in front of both rear wheels (as per Luckyluciano's excellent pics).
Coming towards the front, there is nothing on the sills until you are approx 12" from the front tyre Stone Guards, where there is an oblong piece on the sills only, between the Stone Guards and the doors.
The fifth and final piece is on the front, right at the very bottom, below the plate, and covers most of the width.
Thanks for the education Peter.
Some people thought they were scratches on my paintwork

The Armafend piece is much bigger than the AM bit which probably explain the extra cost. It goes fron the edge of the door back to the arch
I have had this armoufend on my car the section ahead of the rear wheel goes right up to the middle line of the car, rather than the silly bit Aston use, I found it just gets stone chipped all around the section! So armourfend is very good- no chips on mine

You can get it from any dealer. I think they call it "Helicopter Tape" and it's £20ish per piece.
I've just posted a picture of mine on the stone chip repair thread.
"helicopter tape" is not quite the same it is not UV stable and discolours.I've just posted a picture of mine on the stone chip repair thread.
OP do a search on venture shield they have ALL the templated for the Vantage and can give you the larger rear quarter piece (I have it on mine)

original one from AM and had the 3M backing tape. If I'm not mistaken 3M own armourfend?
There was no discolouring of the original tape either.
