[NIMBY]... there's a time and a place for doing considerably more than the 30mph limit and it's not outside my bloody window at 5:30am. I know you like flooring your motor around suburban streets, we hear it often enough, but one day your actions could well catch up with you.
[/NIMBY]

Not that I'm going to do anything about it, obviously, I'm not that miserable smile

But some of those around here with more time on their hands might frown

Well, yes. Hence the judicious choice of forum smile

There's a bike that goes by my office at about this time every day (4-5ish), haven't heard him yet so sitting and waiting but it's disgustingly loud and makes my V8V at full revs sound quiet.

As I recently tried to point out on another well known forum, the actions of 'one' often reflect on the 'marque'.

As a consequence I was soundly hung, drawn and quartered by those who would hear no slur on their choice of car, even though my ire was against the driver not the marque.

If its a regular event is it possible to locate and have a quiet word?

Presumably its a local owner!

We have a bunch of halfwits in the police around my way, using their sirens without any thought.

Ah, but there is the point. (I like to think) I show some consideration. I'm not that annoyed, it was more a heads-up for the driver to be honest. I know that at least one of the neighbour's has put in a complaint, because she chewed my ear off this morning about it. Bear in mind this isn't some burbling along at slightly naughty speeds, it sounds like WOT for 200 yards.

This one I don't get too. The frequency with which I get woken at night to a siren going by when it's the only car on the road in either direction is fairly disturbing.

I can relate, my house is on a road which happens to be a very popular biking route. Not too bad during the week but Sunday mornings when hungover are a nightmare. Still there are worse sounds out there to be woken up to.

I've had to apologise to my neighbours as well after I fitted a Larini system to my DB7 Vantage. Start up is the worst - I've explained to them that after you've pressed the starter button there is no going back and the intial fast tickover (and associated noise) is none of my doing.

When I did fire service training back in the early eighties I'm sure that there was a rule/law that sirens were not to be used after 11/12 at night. Can't imagine it's been changed since then so I'd put a complaint in.
