Early V12 Vanquish buying advice

I’m considering an early V12 Vanquish for a bit of weekend fun. I want something that feels special, I have been considering a nearly new Morgan Plus Four but then this one caught my eye.
I don’t know much about them but the car I’m interested in has low owners, had a huge amount of money spent on it in the last few years and is a very clean car according to the Main Dealer.
Anything I should be aware of? I’ll probably only do 1k-2k miles a year. How ruinous should I expect?
I used to have a V12 Vanquish - when they first came out... now have a Morgan 4.8 +8 as it happens!I don’t know much about them but the car I’m interested in has low owners, had a huge amount of money spent on it in the last few years and is a very clean car according to the Main Dealer.

The Vanquish is a beautiful car, no question about that. But I found the 'auto' box and clutch to be very fragile - it would smell quite clutchy at times. It didn't inspire any confidence.
But it looked and sounded great.

Then, to be a little blunt, you were driving it wrong. Don't drive it like it is an auto. It isn't. There is a drivers guide. If you drive it correctly it performs exceptionally well. It's not a 2024 it's a 2000 experience and very good if driven right. The Vanquish is a beautiful car, no question about that. The panel gaps are spot on in every car I have ever seen. Something wrong with that gap. Contact David Such and talk to him. If he knows the car and you say he does then you are missing out on valuable information.
You will never think about the wheel once driving it. It is a little weird, but just is what it is. My biggest annoyance the is separate horn buttons, much prefer the boss to be the horn. Like every other car on the road.
The A pillars are thick, but very strong. They do slightly rob you of vision. You learn to look around them pretty quickly.
Don't drive it like an Auto. Drive it like the robotised manual it is. Watch the AMHT video on their website for the correct method of driving. If you smell cluthc you are driving it wrong, very wrong.

David mentioned it had some paint done and certainly inferred it wasn’t to a standard he’d be happy with, he didn’t mention the gaps.
It has set the alarm bells ringing tbh as given the larg sums the last owner spent on it, I’m wondering if it had been neglected before he purchased it.
Apparently he has 3 Vanquishes and this was the lesser of the 3 hence moving it on.

I'd look at others before going any further with this one. If it has had the money spent on it to bring it up to date. Then it might be fine, but it might not. Steering wheel - the rim sits back from the hub..
Panel gap differences - look like boot lid alignment on drivers side and the passenger rear bumper sits proud as though a bracket has broken.
My boot was like this when I bought mine in 2011. Bamford Rose sorted it when they serviced it and it has been perfect ever since. There was a lot of banging from the workshop when I went to pick it up and Adrian said "your boot is being straighten up".Didnt take them long, the guy who fixed it was ex NP and knew what he was doing.Panel gap differences - look like boot lid alignment on drivers side and the passenger rear bumper sits proud as though a bracket has broken.

Did they explain why it was like that? Was it simply poor quality control on production line?Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
