So what have you done with your Aston today? (Vol. 2)
Discussion
Not yesterday but last Sunday, enjoyed a V8V drive to Middlewick House, Wiltshire, a charity event hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Nick Mason.
You might know that name.
A number of modern Aston Martins arrived in the cars of note parking area, together with many other interesting cars.
Perhaps a date for next year, if you like what you see in the film.
Beautiful gardens and so many wonderful cars.
Not my film, but this will give you an idea of what the day was like.

Some photos.
It was a cold winter’s day today initially sunny and around 16 degrees, but the heated seats and heater set to 25 made it feel like a different day. So I took a quick drive up to Palm Beach (Summer Bay if you ever watched that TV show) after the gym. Bliss. Of course it clouded over the second I got out of the car to take a photo so no blue sparkles.

A suitably pompous soundtrack set the mood.![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Replaced stock pads with Porterfield R-4S pads. No more squeaky/noisy brakes. Great pads, they seem to have equal performance to stock pads.

Are they as dusty as the OEM pads? The squeaking is the bane of my life with this car (mine is really bad, never managed to get it sorted under warranty despite being checked) but have read some mixed reviews on the Porterfield's, good to hear from someone that's happy with them. AMV93 said:

I have to say I am a little disappointed with the Porterfields. I fitted mine 4 years ago front & rear and I seem to get as much dust as on my daily driver. I may just have been unlucky with an odd batch.Well sort of Yesterday and Today
Collected it from Bristol, drove it home, then put our dogs in the boot, luggage behind the seats, then drove to Portsmouth yesterday, grinned like a chesire cat, took the inlaws for a test drive or two, then drove home this evening,
Put 300 miles on it and feel alot more familiar with it now, getting the hang of the Sportshift and the handbrake being on the wrong side, sports exhaust sounds amazing but when on the motorway its surprisingly quiet and comfortable.
Back at home now with a beer watching Le Mans, awesome 24 hrs, so so pleased that we pushed the boat out.

Wait, you got dogs in the boot of a Vantage? Apart from I don't let mine anywhere near it, what dogs are they that can fit?
Congrats on the 420 BTW, got my 430 a short while ago as an unexpected step up from my 2006 4.3
They tend to sleep / curl up next to each other anyway, We have a 1 year old Weimaraner & a 5 year old Fox red Lab ( she is small for a Lab ) so they happily curled up and went to sleep, they did get lifted into the car and we have a boot blanket from another car that kept it clean inside and then we had another blanket to put over the boot lip just in case they caught their paws on it.Congrats on the 420 BTW, got my 430 a short while ago as an unexpected step up from my 2006 4.3
We took the parcel shelf out and tucked that away in the space behind the seats and they seemed happy enough but we do travel about a fair bit and they are very used to going in a car.
It wont be an everyday thing, but means we can use it to go away for the weekend, and still be able to take them with us should we wish to and a definite plus point over a 911 which is the other car we had been considering.

Must less dust than the OEM pads. Zero noise!!!Dewi 2 said:

Queues to get in were horrendous though - it was the only time during my ownership I wished I didn’t have a manual!!

Nice one and welcome to the Vantage “N” club, love how you took the dogs out for a drive in it!
