All,

Has anyone upgraded their wheels recently? I'm thinking of going from 18-inch Silver's to the 18-inch Anthracite alloys.

Where/How is the best/cheapest place to get this done? Is it to simply stick it into the dealers and give them a grand?

Plus would the dealer take the existing wheels off my hands or would I have to sell them privately?

Surely it's cheaper just to get your wheels pained anthracite....

Or powder coated anthracite (any brake dust comes off so easy with powder coating)

Thanks, you're right.

I just spotted this thread:

www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?t=92237&f=7&h=0&hw=anthracite

Sounds like Dookie had the same thing done. Dookie are you still on here? What colour did you specify to get it looking like the TVR anthracite alloys?

Cheers,
Jim

If only! I payed £1400 for mine 2 years ago from TMS! My own dealer wanted to charge me £1750!

Has anyone ever tried this lot for wheel refurbishment and/or powder coating?

www.tyresave.co.uk/alloyrfb.html

They're quoting £55/wheel to repair & powder paint the wheel in anthracite.

I need someone in the North West really. Anyone any experiences?

Be careful JimmyT, dunno if you remember my posts on this from a couple of months back but the place I was going to go to only offered an anthracite "fairly close to the TVR one". You really want to see one of the wheels before comitting to it I think.

I decieded to buy a new set of anthracite wheels and sell the old ones (cleaned up).

Hi Neil,

Thanks for the warning - I could faintly remember you saying something like that but couldn't find the post.

Where did you buy yours from in the end? Did you get a good price for your silver 18 inch alloys? And was the costing of fitting etc. included?

Resurrecting this thread to ask the same question - I currently have 4 x silver 18" spiders in perfect condition. Any advice from those that have been down this road before? Get mine refinished by the likes of Spit & Polish and TVR Power, or flog them and buy new?

Cheers
Don

Stunning!

Where did you get the decals from? Mine have an unbranded gold inset at the mo.

I got my black TVR-branded inserts from the TVR Centre in Barnet (020 8440 6666).

Posted them within a few days and cost about a £5 each.

My car came with them... I think maybe when they fall off I too will have unbranded gold insets.
