Hello to all you TVR addicts out there as this is my first post on the TVR forum. I've just sold my Caterham R300 (superb car, missing it greatly) and am now seriously considering a T350 or an R400. The thing that scares me about the T350 is the running costs and reliabilty issues. I know it will be more expensive to run than a Caterham but are they as unreliable as I've heard? btw should be going for a test drive next tuesday.

Not in my experience - services circa £700 and same for insurance but drinks petrol but definitely worth it!

Must admit, insurance was cheaper than I expected (I'm only 24 yrs old) and having read reports on the members cars within PistonHeads they do seem to be reliable too. I've got to say that the T350 is edging out as a favourite at the moment and it is one of the most beautiful, yet aggressive, looking cars I've ever clapped eyes on!

Just bought a T350c myself, and was slightly concerned about how much running costs would be.

I reckon a couple a hundred pounds a month put into a seperate account should cover everything (hopefully) for a year.

This is based on 12,000 miles per annum, i.e 2 services, new set of tyres, etc (does not include insurance, petrol).

Hi

Had mine about 16 months now (was one of the 1st cars out the factory) and has been very reliable! Always starts (except when the battery goes flat if i don't drive it for a while) and nothing has fallen off except for the glued on ring piece where the petrol pump goes in and the gear lever gaitor where the glue melted.

Build quality is still an issue, but mine has been painted well (some i have seen however have not) and the interior was a bit gluey. Few rattly bits which have been adjusted by the dealer but nothing otherwise to report there.

based on my experience would recommend buying an earlier example, which may lack useless sunvisors, front speakers which spoil the look of the doors, & a luggage cover but can be bought for about 30k. Aircon is MUST HAVE though!
