Speedo Problem

All,

I've got the familiar Tamora/T350-digital/analogue speedo-reading-zero-some-of-the-time problem which is relatively vexing.

I've read in previous posts that this can be caused by the speed actuator on the rear axle coming adrift, and possibly shorted out on the chassis. (nubbin's comments from an earlier thread).

I've also read it could be a fuse problem (although it doesn't sound like it as the problem is intermittent - unless its loose).

Is there anything I can try at home to fix this or is it a trip to the dealer? From memory, is the fuse layout in the manual and should I try replacing the said fuse? Anything I can do about the rear actuator?

Cheers,
James

Me too. If you find anything out, let me know.

I've had;

(a) totally new instrument pod
(b) current pod been back to the factory for testing

Guess what? Yup "It was fine when tested...."

Maybe you're on to something with the acctuator? but I'm sure they checked that too....

OK, will do.

Did you two get your replacements done under factory warranty? Mine is now out of the 1 year factory warranty but I do have a 2 year breakdown warranty with Warranty Holdings (who are currently honouring policies).

I'd hope this should count for a claim as a component has failed.

However, if anyone out there has any tips I can try out, we'd all like to hear them!

Cheers,
James

As far as I'm aware (and I may be wrong), its one year for everything.

The second year is breakdown only and I think just applies to the engine. Doubt if the speedo components are covered.

Anyone else know different?

My car is 2 years old next month so I'll need to move fast if this is not the case.
