Has anyone experience of de-cat'ing the T350 (or other speed 6 powered monsters)?? I'm interested to know what the results actually are; and ultimately if it's worth doing...

Hi Richard,
Had my T350c decatted a few weeks ago. It seems to rev more freely and appears to have a little more low down torque although I have no pre and post dyno figure to demonstrate.

The pipes fitted in place of the cats are identical in external appearance.

Combined with a sports exhaust system, noise is 104.5db at 4500 rpm measured at 1.5m.

Car pops a little more on the overrun than before.

No experience other than hearing Daftlads car a while back - sounds glorious

Where did you get the pipes from, and of course.....how much?

From Hexham Horseless Carriages - still dont know what they cost but it was worth it!

Speak to Tony on 01434 601666 and tell him you saw my advert on here - still time for me to get some discount!!

I gave Tony a phone and they cost £115 each, don't know if this is inc VAT or not . Peninsula have them for sale at £150 + VAT = £176.25.

I presume you can stick the cats back on for the MOT at some point in the future?

it would be interesting to know what actual difference they make to the bhp/torque... did they mention anything when you got the prices..?

Cats go back in for MOT as required....

No mention of any increases when I bought mine.

Thanks for the replies.

Was the car re-mapped when you had the cats removed and sports exhaust fitted?

And is the whole shooting match a bigger bore, or as per the standard bore??

Bigger bore I think. On the mapping front, I am told that the ECU reads any changes and remaps without any further input.

I vaguely recall from somewhere that the engine management uses an open-loop system, rather than closed-loop, and understand that the lambda sensor is before the cats - wouldn't this mean a re-map to gain benefit?

I'm not going to pretend that I know how the system works - anybody know the actual details and modification requirements?

Speaking to someone who has removed them rather than put new pipe in he gained about 20bhp overall

Apparently, the HHC pipes look like the original Cats, but have the internals removed.

I meant to drop you a line James (on a connected subject). I was speaking to Tony the other day and apparently I owe you a pint (he told me you'd given up your place in the queue for me).

Cheers, that's much appreciated.
