I had exactly the same problem looking for insurance for my T350 (to be..) Several didnt have the car on the system, only the Tamora, so it narrowed my choice conciderably. (This was compounded by my requirement for a green card though) Having to cancel my current insurance which is three months old, and start again.

Neither of my last two companies had the T350 listed but they agreed to use the Tamora and wrote me a letter stating this.

Shouldn't be a problem.

Agree with Blueyes, the Insurance Company should be using a 'similar' vehicle to arrive at the quote, ie. a Tamora.
I've got the first customer Tamora so at the time my insurance company (Sunninghill) quoted it the same as a Tuscan.
Cheers....... Andrew

If they can not or will not insure the vehicle, make sure you are only charged for time on cover and that there is no penalty for early policy cancellation.

I used Norwich Union Direct - and they were quite helpful, no track day cover though.

On a couple of them (such as Privelage), I suggested that it was amost identical to a Tamora other than it was a coupe as opposed to a convertable....

Their reply was "it doesnt matter - its not on the system so we cant insure it.."

Which tells you a lot about the service they'll offer if you have a prang. Better off not insuring with them anyway.

I went with direct choice, who beat everybody..even direct line! Talked to them for ages about previous cars I'd had, motorsport experience, etc. Seems they take a human view on the underwriting rather than just "what's on the screen" Worth a try.

Had similar problem insuring my T350C, tried to do it on-line but most insurance companies only had the Tamora on the books. I spoke directly to Admiral and received a very good quote from them.

Rgds.

Tried direct choice this morning, They dont have T350 on their books so wouldn't quote.
My present insurer will not take any business on cars worth more than 35k!!!!(Peart)
Got a reasonable quote with mannings so gone with them.

I got a pretty good deal from Admiral. They don't insist on a tracker being fitted either. No track day cover though.

A friend of mine got his Boxter insured for a ridiculously low price from....Tesco, believe it or not. Might be worth a go.... though I have to say the quote I got from them wasn't as good.

I too am with Privilege, and when I called them to switch my insurance from the Chim to the Tamora, I told them I had a Tracker fitted, however, they told me it makes no difference whatsoever to my premium!!
How odd!
