Driving to work today encountered a scenario I have encountered many times when driving performance cars.

Meandering along a B road in a queue of commuter traffic, nowhere to go, just sit patiently and watch the world go by, in front the guy in a car which he regards as the db's but it's not (in this case an M reg Mazda 3 something coupe), sees a TVR in his mirror, gets overcome by jealousy, avarice, inferiority complex, or whatever other personality defect he possesses, decided he must demonstrate these defects by immediately overtaking, one, (christ he must be joking !!) two cars in front of him coming up to a blind bend.

Fate, luck, the rabbits foot dangling from his mirror, favour him today and nothing is coming round the bend - he gets away with it and satiates himself with a smug grin thinking, well that just proves the opinion I have of myself and my car.

Another day I would have witnessed this XXXXhole hit head on a poor unsuspecting person coming the other way. It wouldn't have been pretty and could have been my (or yours) wife and children.

Thing was, I was left feeling guilty for somehow creating this situation, maybe this guy drives like it everyday but just the fact that a performance car in in their vicinity seems to bring out the worst in some drivers.

Has anyone else had the same experience or been made to feel through no fault of their own that they did or nearly cause an accident just by the fact they drive a fast car

yeah these guys are just insecure dicks. Was in the wife's Clio yestrerday and there was a guy in front of me at the junction in an STi Scooby all stickered up. He lit up the fronts as he weaved right and went rocketing into a village ( 40 limit ) doing at least 60 - he must have been 48-50 years old - no provocation that I could see - still don't understand these cretins...........

Yep since I got into TVR ownership a few years ago I have seen more nutters while out in the TVR.

I've lost count the number of times someone who has been sitting in the inside lane with me passing (within speed limits) on the outside and then all of a sudden they see a TVR...and their minds says 'can't have that go past us now can we?' and they are on your arse (with inches to spare) or accelerate on the inside etc etc.

I've just learnt to pull over and not let them get to me...but their actions are dangerous.

I've only really experienced this 'aggressively' while out in the TVR...nutters is all I can say.

Nope, I've never noticed people driving differently 'cos I'm in a TVR to when I'm not. A twat-driver is a twat-driver
whatever car I'm in.

In fact people make a point of letting me out at junction queues just to have a look at the Tamora.

I can't believe that had I been in my wife's Peugeot 206 that this particular twat would have pulled the stunt he did. He looked in his mirror thought "I'll show him"

All part of the mine's bigger than his syndrome

I hate that, just get out of my bloody way and stop arsing about on the inside lane. They were quite happy to drive at 60 holding all the traffic up until you undertake them, but soon as you do, they speed up

I've obviously been lucky, I have had no idoicy while on the road in the tiv. Indeed, while driving the girlfriend's Focus down the motorway I find people aren't quite as eager to pull over for you - even if you're not really in a hurry to get by! Overall when I got the Tamora, I had been expecting some macho challenges from people who's mental age clearly lags the physical. Fortunately, this has not been the case.
