I am due to pick up my new Tamora this comming Friday , I am counting the hours!!
I went down to the dealer on saturday to have a look over it, and there is a sticker next to the petrol cap saying, Use unleaded petrol only Ron 95.
I always use to use Super unleaded or Optimax in my Griff, as I found on standard unleaded it would pink.
Flasher, I forgot to ask you yesterday, but what do you use in yours? and anyone else who has already taken delivery, what do you use?
Look out for a Wild fire red tamora, with Anthracite 18" wheels in Cambridgeshire this weekend, with a three foot wide Grin beaming through the windscreen, , it will be me.

I got mine on Saturday and I'm using 95 RON.

I think the ECU on the speed 6 engine adapts the timing (or whatever it is that's affected) dependant on what you put in.

The manual states 95 RON for normal use, Super if you're going on track.

Cheers.

Nigel

I use both, but if I can it gets Optimax. It's probably better off on Optimax, but anyone who reckons they can tell the difference is probably lying.....

looking forward to seeing your car Nigel, can't you push them to have it ready for Thursday???

It would be nice to see it at the meeting....

At least get some pictures so we can see what it looks like....

Nigel, I've only ever used 95 RON in mine, just like it says on the sticker.
The colour and wheels sound good! Get the pictures soon.....
Cheers...... Andrew

Mine's been fed a total diet of Optimax - never seen the lowly unleaded!

Only normal unleaded for mine. Would there be any noticable difference with super or optimax?.

I also have a BMW mini cooper and I can't in all honesty notice any difference when I fill up.

I would ask your dealer to have a look if it pinks on standard! The engine doesn't adjust, all the Sp6 engines are mapped for 95 - higher octane won't make any difference (Optimax hype/claims aside).

Unless he's changed apache's got a Griffith which is designed for 98 RON so you'd expect it to pink on 95 RON!
Cheers....... Andrew
