electrical hum

After a spirited drive this afternoon, parked the car switched the ignition off and then heard somthink still running. I initially thought it was the fans but then discovered it was coming from the rear of the car close to the petrol tank, somthink was buzzing away for about 5 mins and then stopped. Anyone else had anythink like this? Could it be the petrol pump not cutting off properly? Thanx for any replies

I get that too - sounds like the car is mooing!

I've absolutely no idea where it's coming from though. Petrol pump was my best guess too.

Not sure but I beleive it is the petrol tank vent solenoid. Modern cars have a sealed system with a valve thet vents the tank when it is switched on.
