Tam front spoiler, am I the only one?
Discussion
Who's scuffed it already, after only a week!! Caught it going over a lump of concrete that stops my boss's gates!!! What is the best way to touch up the black spoiler, Hammerite? or,,,,, would it be worth having it painted the same colour as the body when I book it in for a front respray (to get rid of stone chip marks)??
Chris
(bit like having brand new shoes and scuffing them on the first day!!! lol)

Cheers guys, , Feel a 'little' better in the knowledge I'm not the only one! I shall book it in for a stone chip respray at TVR Bodyshop (are there any others who offer this service?), and get the spoiler sorted at the same time.
BTW Dicky,,, we were just in stiches reading through your 'Black Widow spider thread!!!! lol

You have my sympathy too. I've had my T350 for just over a week when I misjudged both the turning circle and the amount of bonnet in front of me. Result; one scuffed spoiler on the kerb!
It is quite sickening, isn't it, even more so when we pay 30K+ for our pride and joys, to hear the scraping sound as we go over something is painful to say the least! The turning circle with the 18" alloys isn't great, is it!!! lol, my finacee's Renault Clio can run circles around the Tam! lol
Chris
]Interesting. We are a Tamora (or will be) and Renault Clio household too! I dread the turning circle as my drive is an awkward entrance in a clio, so fear the TVR will make it very hard going!
It's certainly 'livable', and the steering is certainly a LOT better than it was in my Chim, I don't think you'll have too much of a problem, plus the fact that the Tam is one of the shortest TVRs, with little overhang front and rear, (that is, of course, not counting the front spoiler which seemingly 'drags' along the road in front of you!!lol)
I too have a reletively tight turn to make to get it up my drive and into the garage, not reallt had any probs thus far.
We bought our Clio a few weeks back, after part exing it for a gutless MGZR160, which we decided was silly money to insure (the Tam is only £60 more!!!!!!), and not very much fun driving, compared to our other car, so we got the Clio, and its great, low insurance, great petrol economy, which, offsets the Tam perfectly!! lol,, Oh yes, I have also noticed that the Tam is MUCH better on fuel than the Chim was, which is nice
Chris
Have just noticed that 2nd hand Tams are now quite scarce, and the value seems to have jumped somewhat in the past few weeks,, a future gem perhaps??

chris watton said:I was convinced that the front end grounding out would be a problem coming out of my garage, so there was me first time out in my brand new T350, creeping along at ~0.01mph....front didn't scrape so carried on...only to have the rear diffuser ground out, cracking it slightly and one of the bolts popped out and went straight down a drain!

You did well - I grounded the splitter the day after I picked it up from the factory! The air was blue, but it happens. Be careful of single track roads over the top of the Yorkshire Dales.....
I use black tape along the bottom edge of the splitter (the downward facing angle, not the very bottom) - seems to work.
The suspension on later cars is adjustable - a few weeks ago the factory raised the suspension by an inch as it was set originally with less than 4 inches clearance.
]Thats such a good idea. How often do you need to replace the tape?
I haven't needed to replace it yet, although I am actually on the second tape strip since new (due to being attacked by a rampant hubcap in Scotland last summer that required a front end respray! )
