...with a bead of silicone about the width of my little finger on the edge of the apperture. I only put it on the front edge, running around the corners by about 4 inches. Looks great

I guess it proves that beefing up the seals is going to go a long way to curing it. When I last spoke to the factory they said they were investigating doubling up on the seal - fingers crossed!

Yes but I could do with a permanent solution. The silicone couldn't stay on (looked a total mess) so I peeled it off last night.

Am now thinking the solution would be to fit an extra seal myself to the trench on the inside of the panel.

Anyone know where you can buy rubber seals etc?

Nick_Beef : I didn't notice, at first, that yours is a Targa too. Seeing as you've gone quite fast in yours....ahem....do you have any trouble with wind noise? Do you have the later roof design (fixings at the front and back)?

Neil.. after coming out of the Tamora and into the Targa the wind noise sounds very similar, kicks in around 80mph... the clips on mine are on the back and side but the dealer tells me that they've been modified from the original ones... they had an unregistered targa there with exactly the same design..!! he told me to stick a rubber seal from the front to about half way to the side which should cut out alot more... but to be honest i'm not to bothered with it,the Tam was just as bad plus it might visually look tacky...

interesting....

After doing some doodling this morning I think the solution might be a circular profile rubber seal in the trench around the edge of the panel. I kind of always assumed the the hard rubber edging on the apperture formed a seal with the soft rubber on the panel but this is not true. So my idea is that runnning a (sponge core) seal in the gap will make the hard rubber strip press into it when you clip the panel in place.

Found these guys (from a classic car site) that do loads of stuff;

www.kopak-walker.co.uk/

Gonna order some bits and give it a try. Will post back with the results.

Bombs Top Tip......

Try wrapping the whole vehicle in Duct Tape and then a Jubilee clip around the 'whole ensemble'.

Remember to leave the tailgate open so you can still access the car.......( obvious I know!)

Not 'pleasing to the eye', but very effective.

Worked a teat for me.
