Todays v positive Sunday Times article on the Tamora (see Tvr General Gassing Forum) should boost sales!
Clarkson is particularly complimentary about the backend of the beast!! Excellent news, but rather strange, given that this was the one thing about the car that gave rise to mixed feelings amongst Pistonheaders on these threads.
Does anyone know how many Tamoras have been ordered/produced now?

I was at Castle TVR at the weekend and they have:
1 Demo - Silver
1 Sold - Blue
1 Sold - Red
1 Sold - also red inside
several on back order waiting delivery
For a new dealer thats not bad going - cant imagine that you would get through too many £36K cars in a week... Seems like they are going well...
They also reported virtually no problems from the factory. Seems like the quality problems are getting better..

I have had NO mechanical problems whatsoever. The following do represent quality control problems however:-
Gear lever not attached!! - bolt not fitted to base.
Door seals leaking water into footwells - cured using silicone sealant.
ECU over-reading (I think)
Glue marks on gear lever surround and on Lamonta on seat.
Ashtray missing! Hole is there but tray not fitted.
Doors catching - possibly expected but need adjustment.
And that's about it. I reckon that's pretty good for an early example of a new TVR. I imagine the quality has improved since I bought mine, so I agree with Pbrettle - they are much better. Kind of hijacking this thread (sorry) but the manual states that the screen selected when the ignition is turned off is the one that will appear when the ignition is turned on again. Mine does not do this, it always starts up with the same screen - regardless of what was chosen beforehand. Am I just special, or does this apply to everyone?

Apart from that it's absolutley brilliant.5,500 miles and no problems. Well built and the best drivers car I have ever owned. No wonder the motoring press have gone potty about it......and believe me if it was crap I would be on here moaning like hell about it after spending the best part of 40K on it...

Me too flash. I'm not going to put up with crap on a car so expensive. I simply cannot convey the brilliance of the driving experience - the scenery goes into rewind when you press the loud pedal, and all the other cars seem to apply their brakes. The downside is the novel experience of constantly being cut up at roundabouts- you gather speed from a standing start so quickly, that ditherers and pushy types sneaking on from the next entry, invariably get into the classic t-boning position, and then look sheepish when they realise how effing stupid they are....
Thinking about uit, my software is v5.8 - so maybe I'm o.k.?

I've so far had 11 problems with my car, most of them are sorted now (including a rear left brake that engaged before the rear right....VERY scary). However I keep getting a "Heater Flap" warning and my heater won't blow cold air. The garage have fitted a grub screw to the flap assembly but it's still not working. Anyone else seen/fixed this?
Anyway, I don't care about the problems...well not too much anyway...cos that car is an absolute missile....I'm still trying to adjust my brain to the fast-forward driving experience.

If you want the scenery to go into warp speed rewind, forget the tamora or any TVR, just buy a Stealth B6. And yes, they are not only scary to look at, they frighten the cr*p out of you to drive too. 0-100 in 6secs.
Mid range is awesome. 40-100 is 2.8 or something.
Having owned TVRs for years, looks like it will be one of these next, or possibly the new lambo or aston.
Still have to save up some cash first.

0-100 in 9.1 ain't too bad, is it? I don't really think I'd want to go much faster on British public roads - mainly because it causes too many problems for other drivers when you arrive in their rear view mirror, when they had glanced 2 secs before and saw only a clear road. They go all silly and wobbly, and dive towards the kerb - or make a mess of their driver's seat!!

Had this when I first got the car. It was a mixture of the software and the heater flap being shagged!! Think you need a new heater flap assembly maybe???

Errr, how old are you, bad boy? Do you really think a bunch of Tamora owners are going to say "No, the Boxster's better", on a Tamora thread, on a TVR website? The only advantage a Boxster has is it's resale value. Dynamically, the Tamora is faster, better handling, grippier, and has the WOW!! factor that the rather common Boxster just aint got. It may be the "sensible" sports car to the chattering classes and hooray Henrys, but to my tiny mind, "sensible" and "sports car" do not need to belong together....
