Thoughts on storage

First Post. Hello all!!
So......after instantly regretting selling my Griffith 500 2 years ago (due to a house move and no garage), we moved once again this year and an outbuilding seemed ripe for another TVR stint. So 2003 Tamora bought in May this year( blue, 11000miles, well loved). It has been brilliant and I could go on about that but I'm after some advice on vehicle storage.
Basically, the barn that the car lives in is secured and powered so is left on the accumate under a fitted cover during the summer months. However, I am concerned that whilst weatherproof, the barn may be a bit damp through the forthcoming winter.
So, I have looked at carcoons, cair-o-ports and some sort of giant pencil case?! which can be erected in the barn and keep humidity levels low.
What i would like to know about is any personal experiences of these products when used in a less than perfecty dry garage/barn etc or whether they only really do the job if they are not fighting against moist air from the outside world?
I realise this is aimed at a narrow audience!!!

You either need to seal it up or let air flow around sufficiently to prevent sweating condensation. My garage has gaps at the top and bottom of both garage doors for this reason. I thought about sealing it and using a dehumidifier/heating it (already hold the boiler and is attached to the house), however each time one of the doors is opened it defeats all efforts, plus sealing a garage properly is hard.
Personally I'd go with the air flowing option and get the car out for a run once a month or so when we get those lovely bright and dry winter days. The car will thank you for it.

Sounds like you take this pretty seriously!
Carcoon/airchamber would work, but a lower cost more dehumidified solution is Permabag. (http://permabag.com/) I used one of these for a while a few years ago and was very impressed. The good thing is that you can see the humidity level, and recharge the canisters.

I take it that you have a timber barn which is well ventilated?
In which case Iwouldn't worry too much, make sure you don't leave the mats damp when you put it away for any lenght of time and as previously stated, use it when the weahter is dry just ot get it warmed right through.
Keep it under a breathable cover to keep the dust etc off.

the barn is certainly 'breezy' so airflow is not a problem!
the floor in the barn is 400 years of compacted earth though so i'm guessing when the rain falls, there will be a lot more moisture about.
I just dread being greeted with mildew covered seats!!

would like to think that I would be able to take the car out on a weekly-ish basis over winter but reality is that rainy weekends means it is probably best tucked away in a bag...
