Holding the battery in place

Hi,

Just found out that my battery in the T350c (2003) is not held in place. The battery does not have the lugs on either end, which are use to clamp the battery in position,they are only on the long edges, and as expected the battery is free to move about and bounce up and down.

Does anyone have an idea how to clamp my batery in position or is it just the case that I need to buy a different one.

Can someone tell me what make and referece of battery that I need?

Hammer some blocks of wood down the side between the battery and the chassis rail. Not a complete solution of course, but it should stop it sliding in normal driving. For track work I'd get a new battery with lugs on, or design your own strap-down system over the top of the battery (maybe using those nylon roof rack straps?).

Isn't this how some of the T350 car fires have been started?
Can the positive terminal touch the chassis? If anywhere near, I'd get it sorted ASAP.

The Tamora and Sagaris have the same battery arrangement and potential for this problem too. The problem occurs when a combination of events happen, the main one being the protective covering being removed (or not replaced post battery swap) from between the chassis and the positive battery terminal.
