4.0 litre tamora whats that all about?

can someone please make sense of the suppposed 4.0 litre early tamoras

As far as I understand it TVR wanted to "get rid" of all the 4.0l speed six engines to be mounted in the Tuscan before introducing the 3.6l unit.
Therefore, it's quite understandable that some of the early Tamoras might have been fitted with the previous 4.0l unit...all IMO of course

Spot on Thom and that's what was hinted to me by someone from Blackpool at the weekend.......

As mine was No.2 Tamora, If that is the case it's a fair chance that mine has a 4.0L engine.....

Any idea on numbers flash. As in my e-mail, when we were "out and about", I wasn't aware that you were storming away from me and gb - I wonder if we benefitted from this free "upgrade" as well?! Great selling point when you want to sell, and also a very good reason for keeping it!!

No, all I got was "they had some left over....."

I seem to remember having to wait for you two after I flew off without you when the M69 met the M1......

Apache and I couldn't believe you were "running it in" at those speeds....

I think mine is a 4.0, remember mine was built in October 2001 that was quite a while ago now......

I'm sure you can upgrade to Red Rose spec. very inexpensively - with the aid of a black marker pen (see pics for PH Meet 2).

Beats me why they would bother with a 3.6 if there's a perfectly good 4.0. But even then it's two cylinders short!!!!!!

Mine was one of the first couple of customer so after all the dealer demos mine was still one of the first twenty cars. Wonder if mine's a 4.0l as well?
As Nubbin says there was no noticeable performance difference between mine, his and Flasher's cars?
Mind you the 4.0l Tuscan is rated at 350bhp which is exactly the same as the 3.6l Tamora.
Don't suppose there's any visible difference in the engine's?

Whilst we are talking about engines and the such. What fuel do you guys uses in your Tamora’s. In the handbook it says 95 unless on a track then it recommends 98. I always used to put 98 in the Griff500 and have all but once in the Tamora. So what's the felling, 95 or 98 ?

Nick, I've used 95 at all times. No problems other than it sounds like a tractor when cold! But I think seems a Speed6 charactristic!
Nick, Nubbin, Flasher, etc. What profile are your front tyres? Mine are 225/35 but when I reread the Autocar article last night it said 225/45. My rears are 235/40 which tie up with Autocar.

The Cerbera Speed Six is rated at 350bhp 4.0l. The original 4.0l Tuscan has 360bhp. Don't know how you tell the difference, but my Tuscan, early 4.0l, had better have the extra 10bhp!!!
