I'm seriously thinking of getting my rear window/boot tinted dark.

Has anyone else had it done? Did you do it yourself?

Be carefull of the law! I think they are clamping down, but I can see why it would appeal!

It just bothers me that you can see right into the boot. If I park up with my work bag in the back (with my laptop in it) I think I'd be a bit less wary if you couldn't just glance in and see the bag. I know you can pull the cover over but what says "break into my car, there's something worth nicking" more than that cover?

(Did you get my email this morning Lisa?)

If it was the one about meeting at yours, then yes I did, and yes we will. May have someone else tagging along too if that's ok

I don't think having blacked out windows will help much if I'm honest, other than to make the car look wrong, but that's just IMO, unless you black out your side windows too. Stick to the cover, if you leave your car for any period you shouldn't leave your laptop in there anyway

I know what you mean. It wouldn't be so bad if the cover came up and across instead of diagonally up to the catches - at least then there wouldn't be a big visible lump under it when you have anything bigger than a Oxo cube in the back

Yeah, no problem with extra. There's a fussy old bugger a few doors down who quite obviously hates my car because its noisy - we can give him the TVR equivalent of the dawn chorus!

BTW who is it and what time are you thinking?

I blacked out my rear and side windows (NO max power jokes please!) as it came without the luggage cover. I went for limo black on the rear, slightly lighter on the rear quarters and slightly lighter again on the side windows. All legal, not "max muppet", less for the scrotes to see AND it keeps the car cooler in the sunshine.

I'll post some photos if you're REALLY interested.

I would defintely be interested in seeing how this looks Blueeyes. I'm looking for a T350 right now and some of the '03 cars I've seen don't have the cover (only seems to be 53 plate onwards). I thought blacking out the rear window might be an idea, but was worried about the Max Power effect.

Sorry Lisa, have to disagree with not having the rear hatch tinted. We had ours done before we collected the car from new! like you we never had a rear luggage cover(we have now). From inside you would never know it had been done,Regarding it not being legal, its ok to tint all the windows except the front windscreen I checked with a before having mine done.
While were on here lisa, can you open your rear hatch with the car locked? coz i can!! and then the alarm goes off!!Can't be right can it??
Also as TVR wouldn't do my sun visors, i have invented some myself, and i have to say they work very well, they are removable and can be put back on in under one minute(i'm thinking of offering them to people with pre upgraded T350c's) what do you think??

Dave

I did say unless he blacked out his side windows too

Nope can't open the rear hatch whilst the car is locked.

I'll be interested to have a look at those visors on Sunday

Ok lisa, sorry i missed that bit oooooop's,It would seem that our rear side windows are also tinted.
Regarding the visors....I work for a sign company, and we use a lot of lexan,(polycarbinate) and we have a tool for bending lexan. The visors at the moment are very much prototypes, so i am able to change them to suit anybody's taste ie colour/size etc etc

Can you adapt the visors to fit a Tamora? If so, where can I send my order?!
