Morning everyone!

I've been trawling through the threads in here , but is there a concise list anywhere of things to look out for when bying a used T350?! You know the sort of thing, common faults/glitches or any recalls which it should have had etc etc..?

Any info would be most welcome!

Thanks,

Matthew

PS - I'm sure this is one of the most frequently asked questions, so perhaps it would be a good idea to have a dedicated link somewhere?! (if there isnt one allready!!)

Hello Matthew. Yes it is, but that's what we're here for.

I tried to get a list together back when I bought mine. Here's how far it got;

If you're buying second-hand though your likely to have a lot less to worry about as a big percentage of these niggles are likely to have been sorted by the previous owner.

Hope that helps and good hunting!

Thanks Neil!

Thats realy good, but just a couple of questions regarding that link please.....

"rear splitter" ... what should I be looking for here..?

"finishes around gaiters".... which ones?

"oil pressure sensor"... I assume that I just check that its working?

"Check window seal for leaks"... I know this sounds silly, but whats the best/easiest way of checking this.. (assuming its not raining when I test drive it!!)

And lastly, the comments about the bonnet catching the wipers/airbox etc... it says that this was corrected on later cars.... does anyone know when?!

sorry to be a pain in the A#se !!

The rear splitter problem I never had. From what I remember it was the way the back part of the exhaust was fitted on some early cars - someone correct me if I'm wrong?

Finishes around gaiters is the leather around the gearstick and handbrake. I think almost everyone has had these come unstuck or split.

Oil sensor is a funny one. Various little niggles with these mostly down to faulty sensors I think. For example, from cold mine gives a warning as it reads about 50 psi. As soon as I start driving it drops back to normal again. Just keep an eye on it yourself - someone posted a little table of revs-to-psi which is handy. Use the search funtion on here and it should turn up.

Check windows seals. Just pull and prod them! It was originally from some people's cars who's rear quater windows came loose. I haven't had that problem so can't comment further. Water leaks are more common through the doors and unfortunately this you'll only find out by getting the car wet, and to complicate it further he most common ones are when the car is standing!

The bonnet/wipers thing needed fixing on mine and my car was fairly recent. Its not a major issue and is easily rectified. When you do the test drive, have a look on the bonnet where the wipers are fixed - you'll see where, its a very close fit. Look for signs of wear or marks on the wipers themsevles. Best test is to put the wipers on and watch for them catching!
