Wiper blade length

Hmm, so I've had a 'flop flop' when the wipers have been at the top of their sweep. I initially thought the driver's blade was wiping too far and touching the windscreen edge. Seems this is not the case:





The blades are 18 inches long and fitted properly/centralised. There isn't much unswept area at the top of the screen either. I don't have my old blades to check their length, and all my wiper related boltage is nice and tight. I will solve my problem by going to 16 inch blades (still plenty of swept area to see out of), but it seems tres bizarre to need to!

I did the same, and now have a shorter one on the driver's side than the passenger's. Can't explain why though.

Thats odd - just changed mine, 19" drivers side, 18" passenger side - all ok

Could turn into 'who's got the longest wiper blade' thread! Mine are average BTW (19" drivers side, 18" passenger side)
