Topped up my coolant level this morning, before setting off, to the brim. Wasn't till I was in traffic that I suddenly thought that maybe there was now no where for steam to escape. Should coolant level be about 2 inches down the pipe? If so will drain off some before homeward journey.
also noticed car slightly unbalanced under heavy breaking which came as a little bit of a suprise- should I put this down to greasy road? too used to very dry conditions and ABS me thinks- note to take it a little easier until roads have dried out!

cheers Glenn
P.S 1st time driven car into work- still grinning!!!

RTFM!

I don't know if it's the same as the T350 but the coolant level should be about HALFWAY up the steel pot (use an old wooden spoon to check it) if you fill it more than this, it'll only pi55 out everywhere and due to the syphoning effect, may pi55 out more than it should so you end up with it under-filled.

Now, during your lunch break, go and get the manual from the car then read and memorise every page before you break something!

The coolant cap has a pressure release valve built into it, so that overheating won't blow the head gasket - I can vouch for the fact that it works very well! It is rather embarrassing to have steam etc. spewing out of the bonnet but at least your engine is a bit safer!

Hi Ed
yeah definately up for a spring meet, would be good to get a few T350's out as well. Still think meeting up for one of the GT rounds would be a good idea?

You up for organising?

Hi Nubbin
when is the best time to check the water level, I checked mine after a 3 minute tick over (which I tend to do for the oil check aswell). when I went back to the car cold I noticed that the water level had dropped significantly (although no signs of any spewing in engine bay)

For checking the coolant I have 'stolen' a wooden spoon out of the kitchen and added two black lines. Lower one is when the collant should be, top one needs to be level with the top (ie so I know how far to insert it).

It is approx half way down.

Best done cold ;-)
