I'm currently thinking about changing the Tuscan for a Tamora. I just wondered if there are there any issues I need to consider before buying one. Have there been any build mods that should make me consider a particular age etc, etc, etc.

Before we end up with worms everywhere I should say that this will be my third TVR. I'm used to having a few niggles here and there and don't want to get into the SP6 debate (again!)

From Nov 2002 the design and positioning of the front and rear lights changed.

There were also some other modifications around the seatbelts and seals at this time I think.

Shoosh, don't tell him that!

I hate to admit it but I had one for a few days and really liked it. Adam is saying we should keep the Tuscan is we've just got it 'sorted'! Talk about going full circle. Tsk, women!

So, are we saying that a Tamora is a Girls car?

Hi Jo,

I am hoping that I will be ordering a Tamora in the next week. I am looking at a Red Glow Pearl one that is currently in build.

have you thought about colour/spec yet, or are you a little way off that stage?

Still a little way off that yet. I'm still coming to terms with the idea of letting the Tuscan go!

Could you get a Tamora with a RR engine in? That would surely make letting go of the Tuscan easier

MOD.

Arent you going backwards?
The only thing I'd swap a tuscan for is a T350 or the 400 (or whatever they call it this week)

Jo, as I said on another thread, have you considered putting a nitron suspension package on the Tuscan?

I had nitrons fitted to mine, it makes the car sooooo much more easy to handle. You can chuck it around like anything.

I have it on very good authority that the handling of a Tuscan on Nitrons is a lot better than a standard Tamora/T350 etc....

If you want to try it first before selling your Tuscan, let me know and I'll let you have a go in mine at the next 'meet'.

Thanks Neil, that is a very kind offer. Are you sure they would make that much difference? The RR kit is supposed to improve the suspension, that said I still prefer the Tamora handling.

Right, need organise another meet.

I got the nitrons from Jools at Joospeed. He really knows his stuff when it comes to suspension settings etc... He reckons a standard Tuscan on nitrons will easily out handle a Tamora or T350 on standard suspension.

I have really noticed the difference. Not only around the bends (which is now very pleasurable) but also in a straight line. Sticking your foot right down is no longer a pant messing experience, the car feels absolutely planted.

Yeah, we really should arrange another meet, I am not working the next few weekends. Why don't you stick the feelers out in the Yorkshire region? and I will do likewise in Manchester.

Honest gov'nor, I really am a doctor!
