Hi,
This is my first post so hello to everybody. Ive had my Tamora for nearly a month now. I think its a fantastic car with stunning looks. I bought it SH from Mole Valley, its Red bull Blue with 18 inch spiders.
I have a few questions the first one is about the Radio Reception, the unit it came with seem to struugle to pick up anything nut local TA. Does anyone now where the aerial is or suggest how I can improve it?

It will be back in the garage tomorrow to have some minor tweeks and fixes which Im not too concerned about. There is one issue Im am a little more worried about and that is an oil leak (only a few drops). I dont know exactly where its from but I have been checking the oil after driving and it always seems to read on the max level. I think it only leaks after running when parked. Ive not been driving it hard at all infact I think ive only done just over 5000 rpm
twice. Both times I had an oil pressure warning for a split second. So im wondering if it could be a faulty sensor? In normal driving its at about 30psi. If its ticking over at stand still it can go low to about 12psi. I'm guessing this is ok? Oil temperature is fine.
I look forward to some replies.
Paul

Welcome to PH!

Radio reception is poor (certainly in my T350 anyway) - you should try a 3rd party signal booster if its a problem - This isn't particularly a 'feature' of TVRs, there is no external aerial so it isn't going to be great.

Oil leak - get it checked ASAP. The odd oil pressure warnings do sometimes appear when the car starts (as the pressure builds) if you are getting them when you are one the move then get it looked at sooner rather than later. These engines have a very high compression and specific power ratios and you need to keep on the ball with their fluids.

welcome to PH

The radio reception in all of the TVR's we have had has been poor, Fish put digital in his Tuscan and now in the T350 which is much better, unfortunately I can't help much more than that and Fish is away till Monday so I can't ask him either.

Glad you are enjoying TVR ownership though

Welcome,

Common problem. As TVRs are made of GRP there is little in the way of a metal frame to aid either reception or earthing. FM is at best, poor and as for AM...er no.

Why on earth do you want to listen to the radio

Try Modwise they do an aerial amplifer that gets good reports - I never listen to the radio - it couldn't compete with the V8 soundtrack from my precat Griffith.

hello there
sorry to worry you on your first post but I would on past experience get the car into the dealer ASAP. No hesitating just do it. The alarm and oil leak are pointing to similar problems that I had. I shan't dissappoint you but fear the worse and hopefully it won't happen.

hope it all works out
