Ok so its been on here before!! we have just got the car back from our dealer's, who kindly fitted the upgraded Petrol filler pipe, which is designed to allow better filling up.
Well i would like to say that it had solved the problem, but it hasn't!!! How many of you have had this upgrade? and was it a success? I'm sure it must be me, i tried the filler in half way/three quaters/and all the way in,i twisted it through just about every position of a clock face that i could, but to no evail!!!
What am i doing wrong? Coz i'm fed up with disolving the forcourt tarmac with half a bldy gallon of Optimax every time i fill up.

Frustrated!!! Dave

My car is newer so has the new style filler.

Most of the time I can fill up without trauma, albeit at a gentle pace.

However, I've had the odd mishap, including a spectacular one today where I could do nothing but stand and watch as The Unleaded Niagra Falls cascaded out of my car

Its a mystery to me....

Got car back yesterday, the source of all my coolant woes was a hole in the radiator. Got a new one now, and a working boot catch!

the fuel tank holds a maximum 52 litres. always check the fuel quantity before you fill up. for example-if the LCD indicates 32 litres remaining-20 litres are needed to completely fill the tank.WRONG. add 16 litres. always aiming 4 litres lower than required allows for any gauge inaccuracies. NEVER rely on the petrol pump to automatically click off. instead-watch the petrol pumps display as it counts the number of litres in. STOP when you have enough.

Chimper - I don't think the problem is overfilling. The car has a habit of spitting petrol back at you when it feels like it unless you drip feed it.

Dave - maybe you scared the fuel and it just wants to get away from you
