I have a whirring and ticking sound coming from the clock area, which increase’s in sound when accelerating.
I have mention this to the factory when it was in for a service and also when it was at TMS having some warranty work done, they both said that it is engine noise coming from the valves/tappets and that the speed six is a noisy engine.
Due to the lack of soundproofing in a lightweight car.
Is this true?
Do all T350C/T sound like this?
The sound is driving me MAD!!!!!

Haven't tried Fish's cure yet, I've banished my car to the garage until tomorrow for showing me up twice in one week....

It could be.
The noise goes up and down when accelerating and there is no noise when the engine is just idling.
Is that like your noise?
What did your dealer say it was?
I'am sure what the factory and TMS said is true, that it is the engine noise, I got the answer that "they all do that sir".

BUT I WANT TO STOP IT!!!

I will try what Fish told you to do this weekend and see if that stops it.

Yeah my T350c makes the same noises, I'm told by TVR that the noise is the tappets,as the Speed 6 engine is naturally "tappety",
I also get a 'buzzing noise' from the cooling fan in speedo assembly.Have you managed to work out a good setting for the heater controls? ie... one hot hand and one bldy cold one

Dave, I think I saw your car at the factory last week?

I would've never gone for a colour like that myself but its absolutely gorgeous in the flesh. It looks good enough to eat!

I take it you mean cold left hand and hot right one? Happens to me so I warm up the left on the gear stick

Yes it was my car at the factory having the rear cover retro fitted(thank you Ian at Castle TVR!!).
Regarding the colour, yes i agree the colour is i bit loud and isn't to everyones taste, but i get the same reaction from just about everyone saying the colour wouldn't be thair choice, and then they say it looks rearly nice, when we bought the car it had what i regard as horrible black wheels(Imho). Which made it look like a bldy steam engine(sorry alf).
Well the car is now back at castle TVR and we are collecting it tomorrow.
As for the heating...well we have yet to find a happy medium setting, it just means Diane gets to drive when my left hand goes numb(forget it podie).

I tried Fish’s solution, He is good!!!

I removed the pedal box cover and the noise stop, I tried using some foam around the accelerator cable and replace the cover, the noise was dulled down, but you could still hear it.
I am thinking about putting some spaces between the frame and the cover, so the cable is not touching the pedal box cover?
Anybody got any thoughts on me doing that!
I think if that doesn’t work I will drive around without it on.
I can’t believe what a crap design, that the cable is trapped between the cover and the frame, surely TVR could have design it better and why haven’t they change the design by now, everybody I have spoken to has got this problem.
I am also worried that the material that the cover is made of is working as a sound amplifier, has anybody heard of anybody making it out of any other material say like carbon fibre?
