After I got home last night I was checking the oil when the drivers door popped open on its own. I shut the door but the mirror & panel switches wouldn't work. Using the emergency release I opened the door then took out the fuses for the driver's door ECU, the switch and the window ECU all of which were ok (replaced the fuses). Then started the engine and closed the door and with the engine running the door kept opening on it's own!. After a bit verbal abuse I went back to the mirror switch and started to pull the rubber cover away from it and It all started working again. Anyone come across this strangeness before?.
Flasher - I think I knew what you meant.
Trouble is we've got another dry day out there and I'm stuck in one of these "re-cycled air filled greenhouse in an industrial estate" that are often called "offices".
I have this need to get out side, top down, foot down.......
.......slowly cracking up here with all this TVR talk

Gaffer, do you know whether all the early ECU's are over-reading mileage? I need to know whether to get mine checked, so could you ask your dad for me, please. Thanks, sweetie! (creep, creep). And you can tell anyone at the factory who's prepared to listen that my car is brilliant, and is still going like a greyhound with a firework up it's arse (including all relevant pops and crackles!). But, PLEEEEEEZE, get them to change the unbelievably cheap and crappy glovebox catches. Mine has ceased to function, and I've replaced it with a magnetic catch.

Just called him he is in with PW at the mo so I passed your comments on to him
Dad will find out and call me back.
As for the glovebox the design has changed since yours (yours was an early one...yes..?). Dunno anymore than that. See what Daddy Dearest comes back with.
OK..?

Lindon, I had a silimar problem a couple of months ago which my dealer sorted pretty quickly. I wasn't able to open the drivers door from the dashboard or the wing mirror! Thank goodness for the manual door release! Then, as soon as I started moving the door would open so I had to start moving with the door open before closing it! It made driving in a traffic jam in the rain interesting!
Gaffer, my ECUs just returned from the factory where they found it was recording 7% (I thought it was more) too many miles. Interesting if other owners are getting the same problem?
Cheers..... Andrew

Who is your dad and what's he do?
Dave Cumming. He is the Production Manager and also Test Drives the cars although not as much these days. Someone else now does it but he has to do at least 1 per day. Sort of mystery shopping.
He is also in charge of Transport ie.Getting the cars to and from the dealers.
Mum is the Warranty Manager at the factory so if Dad gets things wrong he gets it in the neck from her.

Please just be carefull, you might end up getting 3,456 comments to "pass on" if you're not.
I know. If its something like the doors sticking, thats fine, if its something like an engine rebuild, thats a bit much. Dad said if he can help he will, but he still has his own work to do.
