Chaps,
I need to replace my rear tyres (18") as I've found a nail in one and as they're both badly worn on the inside so it can't be plugged!

Should I be sticking with Toyo Proxies or are people now using a different manufacturer? What prices have people been paying?

I guess as the tyres have worn on the insides I should be getting the suspension geometry checked?

Cheers..... Andrew

Hi, Andrew - don't know about brands, but try Micheldever tyres for prices - they deliver, and the tyre price plus delivery is usually waaaay cheaper than most other places. (They have a website)

I agree Micheldever tyres are the cheapest I could find.

I've heard the tyre of choice at the moment is Goodyear Eagle F1's (GDS3's I think?).
I've been quoted £108 per tyre fitted for 225-50-16's

I've just booked in with www.blackcircles.com who have a banner ad on PH.

Price for rears fitted, new valves and balancing is £148.34 per tyre inc VAT. This includes 8% PH discount.

www.mytyres.co.uk would deliver them for £110 per tyre but then there's the hassle of getting someone to fit them!

Maddog, rears are 235/40 ZR18 and fronts are 225/35 ZR18.

Cheers..... Andrew

The factory stuck F1's on the front of mine when it went in for a service and they feel better than the Toyos.

What are the tyre specs for those of us with the standard 16" spiders.

Yes - I know it's in the manual but that's in the boot and neither of us wants to go out now

I used Bracknell Tyres (near the rubbish tip) last time I stuck some on the Griff. Good service and I would certainly recommend them. They were £115 for rears (245/16/45). Can you believe the AA wanted £240 each and even KwikFit were looking for £175.
