Are the Tuscan S brakes, and Cerbie brakes different to Tamora/T350 stoppers?

I want to upgrade my brakes, but one specialist has told me that Tamora brakes are the biggest TVR fit.

If so, what's in the Red Rose conversion, which includes new brakes?

Anyone who's had an upgrade, can you help?

Thanks Rob, I'll be interested to know the spec. I might ring the factory to see what they reckon, but I'll wait to see what they've said to you.

Nubbin,
My T350 had the Tuscan S brakes front and rear as part of the original body/engine/exhaust/brakes package.
I wasn't too sure so measured the discs to make sure..

They are the ones with the yellow painted calipers..

They certainly do the trick although it needs more pressure on the pedal than the Cerbera's brakes did.

Thanks 999 - mine are black with the yellow TVR impression cast into them. Apparently they are APRacing patterns, manufactured by TVR.

What diameter discs have you got?

Nubbin, the brakes are as follows:

Front 322mm ventilated discs with 4 Pot callipers
Rear 298mm ventilated discs with single pot callipers

Standard I believe are 304mm fronts and 284mm rears

Nubbin,
after measuring the discs, a conversation with Danielle confirmed they were from the Tuscan S.

Sorry to hijack the brakes discussion but, Ian, can you divulge the details of the exhaust upgrade you got?

No problems - although obtaining the answer myself was rather similar to the brakes i.e. it involved a degree of self investigation and a phonecall to the factory....

Anyway, Starting from the rear, the back box is slightly larger and has a different part number to the original T350 system. The pipework near the manifold is much larger diameter than the standard and that's in keeping with the revised induction and engine management tweaks to get the 375ish BHP. It maintains the larger diameter for most of the run to the back box.

It certainly sounds meatier at idle and at higher speeds is completely insane. Having said that cruising speed 70 - 80mph it purrs without excessive noise. It also doesn't seem to suffer too much from the resonance that others have mentioned. There is some but it appears momentarily then it's gone i.e. in a very narrow rev range.
