counting down the weeks to go! From what I have researched am I right in concluding that pressure washers are a no no?

So what are people using to clean? Just a hose pipe?
What shampoo? Autoglym?
Also any waxing ideas? zymol is what I used to use on my TT and it worked a treat, but I used to pressure wash the alloys.

What leather care to people use?

thanks

Simon

Presure washers are a definite NO NO!
I use the complete range of "Autoglym" products
they do a leather cream which feeds it and keeps it soft.
For cleaning the alloys i use thair spray on wheel cleaner, after spraying the wheels, leave for a couple of minutes, and agitate the area sprayed with a soft paint brush,it's also a good idea to cover the metal piece of the paint brush with some insulating tape to stop it scratching the varnish on the wheel, don't let the cleaner dry on, so do one wheel at a time!!
One final tip if using a tyre wall shine spray, make sure it's dry before you drive off, the reason is because it fly's of and will stain the paint work on your nice new car.(speaking from experiance)
I think i better stop now, as i'm beginning to sound like a Train spotter(no offence meant to train spotters). But there is bound to be a TVR owner out there who likes Train's

If you've got Zymol, you've got the best stuff. Carry on with that, or when it runs out go for P21S shampoo and concourse wax - same as Zymol but about 1/4 of the price!

Edited to add:- one bucket of water, one high quality sponge, and a decent chamois (must be cod-oil tanned to keep it soft), as well as two watering cans of clean cold water to rinse with - that's enough to get right round a Tamora.

Hiya Rob - it's a real pisser about your car - still, at least you're getting a front end respray for nowt!!

I got my P21S from here - the guy even rang me at work to check I'd got all the necessary cloths, paint cleanser etc. Great service! (But expensive, as I've just discovered - so buy from the Demomedia site....)

Are you excited about Eurohoon Rob? I can't wait!!

Hi

I just purchsaed a Zymol kit with wash, cleaner and carbon wax, polished this afternoon and she is as shiny as a new pin so I would go with Zymol its just the best wax ever. By the way check out the US Zymol website the top wax is a staggaring $5,500!!!!.

Sure am going! I was hoping to lose my Le Mans cherry this year, but work commitments prevent that, so it has to be Eurohoon!

After reading pies review on the p21s stuff I have bought a full kit from the Polishing company. Im not sure if I should use the polish and wax yet though, as the car is new, and I believe you have to leave the paint to cure for a while before polishing. Has anyone else received this advice?

I need the same answer as rolex. When is it safe to polish? Thought I would practice on our clio and pretend its the TVR!

I think its safe to wax straight away, In fact I was told to do this as if feeds the paint. No problems with the paint apart from a star crack on the passenger door, not related to polishing, was repainted under warrntee

All the black stuff under the rear wheel arches has come off over time though.
