Strange "clunk"....

Baffled by this one.

Having been parked up, either at work or in the garage at night. When I come to reverse out of the space and start to wind on full lock, about half-way I get a strange clunk coming from the front end. You can feel it through the steering wheel too so it seems obvious its steering related...

Someone suggested not putting the handbrake on when parked up, in case its the handbrake sticking, the clunk being the calipers releasing or something but I tried and its no different....

Guesses anyone?

Sorry Neil can't help,just before my accident the handbrake had started to stick if i was parked up for any length of time.Your cars at the factory soon let them look at it.

My Ka clunks at full lock

I had the same problem at around 6-7000 miles. Took it in to the dealer and suggested they tighten everything on the front end, suspension wise and it seemed to cure it. I thought maybe it was the anti roll bar mountings.
