Thought I'd share this before benno tells you all...

Coming out of Brands hatch on Sunday the Tamora's electrics started playing up. The dash went crazy and only by pulling fuses out did Ben and I manage to turn it all off and get it working properly again. The engine and everything else was fine just the dash and computer not working at all

Took it back to TMS today, it drove fine but the dash was saying I was doing 200mph and 9,000 rpm all the way to Melton Mowbray

Even the factory were struggling to come up with a solution so eventually I had to leave the car with TMS.

It's awful leaving the dealers not knowing when you're baby is coming back so why did I grin all the way home like a cheshire cat???

because TMS lent me this to ease the pain........

Best courtesy car ever

I'd forgotten how awesome these car's are, and now I'm feeling like someone having a fling
Hopefully my baby will be back soon, but until then I'm going to enjoy my brief affair with an old friend

TMS reaches the parts, other dealers don't

Its amazing what a bit of customer service can do. Top advertising for them too - lets hope that other dealers (who also read PH) take note...

Its all in the customer service...

My friends Ford Focus had this exact problem. Said he was doing 140mph at 7500rpm etc. Apparently the alternator had gone...

Maybe the same thing?

Must be good being in a mans car again, after that girly yellow poofmobile Tamora, Flasher

Whats buttercup gone in for then a spot of 'open dash' surgery??

See I did not stoop to your levels, even though i was a witness to the weird goings on of your Tamora I did none of the 'time to tell the truth flasher' malarky..

You're a jammy sod for getting this as a courtesy car but how does it compare to the Cerb you had?

Paint quality, noise levels, interior finish etc. Handling, ride quality? In short, would you swap for the Tamora?!

Did you have one of the older 4.2 ones?

Sorry to hear about 'buttercup'!'

Right then....

Benno, you are just gutted I got there first, plus I haven't been gobbing off for months about how wonderful and reliable my car is, only to have the gearbox and clutch go... you deserved outing and you know it

MickeyT

My Cerb was fantastic and probably even better built then this one. This one is very well built too, but mine was amazingly good so I guess I just got very lucky. This car does seem quicker than my Tamora in a straight line, but I think the Tamora is quicker through bends. By far the best bit is the full hide interior which smells fantastic!!! I had a sports exhaust on mine but this is even louder!!

Highlight of the day was taking the fit blonde from our Tendering dept to Morrisons for lunch after she emailed me begging for a ride !! She was giggling all the way there and back and said I'd made her year so far

I wouldn't swap for the Tamora because I have already had a Cerb, but the whole experience has reminded me what a fantastic car the Cerb is, I just wish I could have both as I do enjoy having the roof off. I think I will have another one, one day

Don't know when mine will be back, but until it is I'm loving every minute of driving the most thing on earth!!!!

My car is still going like a demented train, flash, so hopefully your electrical niggles will be easily sorted - it's a very early car, is buttercup, and so is bound to have a few annoying faults. Chin up, old man!

I strapped my video camera into the passenger seat and went for a thrash round my favourite triangle of quick roads - very entertaining, although I think I need a remote mike, to properly catch the sound of the engine. I would send you some clips, but windows XP turns video into an XP only format - anyone got any decent movie pick-up/editing software I could, er, borrow?

Yeah, it's a good place to work and means I travel North instead of into London these days which is a much nicer commute

Nubbin

The annoying thing is that my car is still running perfectly too!! It's just no fun without a dash-readout The factory were quite concerned because if No.2 goes wrong it doesn't bode well for the others. I actually think mine has been very well put together, being one of the first they took their time building it and I'm not surprised that it's the electrics that are playing up first as the rest of the car seems very solid. I'm due my first service in 1K miles and the engine is still as sweet as when I got it. The original S6 engines went out of tune before the service was due.
I'll let you know what happens, but in the meantime I'm enjoying driving a Cerb again, it's just like old times waking the neighbours up again!!
