I've only just started thinking of this over the last couple of days but I'm thinking seriously about trading in my Tuscan (2002) for a Tamora.

The thing is, whilst I have been happy with the Tuscan and have not had any serious problems with it from new, I just don't think I've had the level of fun with it that I was hoping to. My last car was an Elise and I loved the way I could throw it around whereas I've tended to find the Tuscan more of a sports tourer with its long body and softer suspension. I know there are various suspension mods but I really can't be bothered to go down that route.

Therefore, I was wondering what other people have found on this. Is the Tamora a lot more 'chuckable' or is it just me thinking that the Tamora looks a lot shorter? How much of a hassle is getting the roof on and off? Does its rear end grow on you etc etc?

Thanks for your thoughts.

...but I want open top motoring of some description and the T's airfix panels don't do it for me I'm afraid (no offence to anyone meant at all).

er... how about a Tamora..?

Take one for a test drive... probably the easiest way to find out.

the T350 is based on the chassis of the Tamora so near enough the same, just with a rigid roof which probably helps it that tiny bit more on the handling aspect. I havent owned either but having been in both I would say the handling on the T350 and therefore Tamora is in a different league to the Tuscan and cerb. Wouldnt like to put my finger on why, just the set-up and wheelbase I guess. But the handling on the 350 is just fantastic, even in the wet.

Cunning plan . But the idea has just sort of hit me and I can't take a test drive for a couple of weeks so was simply canvassing opinion.

Thanks for the responses so far.

Mrs Fish - why are you getting rid of the T350?

That ass-end does grow on Tamora owners - at least all the owners I've met look like Donald Duck from the rear. Drive a bit like him too.

Sell it and pick up an early Tuscan Red Rose model. No soft suspension here. Easily thrown around by applying a touch of steering lock along with a bootful of throttle. The road racer of TVR

Go for a Tamora - open top, and the T350 isn't THAT much better handling, and is a little faster due to it's lighter construction.

I'm growing to love my little Tamora more and more, so much so that I may decide to keep it shiny side up this time!!

Hi.. the Tamora is basically the same set up as the T350, you will not notice any difference in the real world.. if you want a full convertible.. then the Tamora is the car for you... come summer you'll know you've made the right choice... the rear end wth the diffuser at the bottom looks wacko..
